Questions & Answers
There are no leaky holes in the removable bowl. My son easily removes the bowl from this toilet after using it and empties it into the larger toilet. Cleaning is a breeze.
Yes, the blue part of the toilet seat lifts right off and snaps into place on a regular oval toilet seat.
Ours "flushed" fine, but there is a removable panel with a wire and connector in the back, which we just received on 1/25/14. To make the "sings when wet" feature work, we had to connect the connector. I'm guessing they did it to address the issues some people had with it randomly singing (so people could turn it off if it was bothering or frightening them).
No, but it wouldn't be difficult to place it on a rubber mat (plus, you'd be able to clean the mat instead of the floor if your child spilled something). Consider the use of a placemat. sized, or a piece of low-cost anti- a non-slip floor mat

When my daughter uses it, it usually doesn't sing, but at 2 a. m. , it does, scaring the living daylights out of me and my husband, so we have to turn it off. Kiddo enjoys peeing on it and flushing it, but I wish it sang more consistently when peed on. I'm going to say something I never thought I'd say.
My honest reviews were apparently unable to be published, so I am modifying them, which is absurd. In any case, the product arrived in a cardboard box with only the company logo printed on it. The seat was strewn with hairs. It had a soiled appearance. There was a rusty brown mark on it. It's possible that this is a returned item. The first review I wrote was fantastic. The product itself was excellent, so I immediately purchased it.
This is a fantastic little training potty! When the child uses half of the toilet, it sings and teaches them how to flush. We started putting our 9-month-old on it because she hates changing her diaper, and she got the hang of it after a few times. When it sings to her, she loves it, and the positive reinforcement is a great way to get her used to using the toilet. Love it!.
Yes, as others have stated, this tiny toilet is haunted, but it is also fantastic. It WILL start singing in the middle of the night and startle you, but you can simply turn it off after your child has used their last potty for the night. My son, on the other hand, adores this toilet. It sings when you pee on it, and it also sings when you flush it. It's so cute. I wish there were more things in life that encouraged you to do small things. Thank goodness for this spooky toilet!.
My son was initially apprehensive about using it (or doing potty training in general), but once he got the hang of it, he loved using it and singing along to the songs it played. Unfortunately, it stopped playing music about 2 months after he began using it, and I'm not sure if it was because we received a defective product. We had to replace the batteries several times. However, I don't believe that was the problem because the flush button continued to work and light up, but the component that detected water in the toilet and started playing music no longer did. My husband dismantled it and dried it out, and it worked for about a week before breaking down again. We contacted Amazon, but the return window had passed (we had it for over a year, but only started using it a few months ago because my son had initially refused). Fisher-Price provides excellent customer service. They sent a replacement out right away because the price was so good and they were so helpful. We should have the new one by the end of the week. I'm glad because my son enjoyed singing the songs, and it allowed us to tell if he needed to use the restroom without having to accompany him. I only gave it three stars because I'm not sure if the reason it stopped working so quickly was due to a design flaw, but my son enjoys it. Is this a potty training product that I would recommend? Yes, but keep in mind that if your product is defective, you have a certain amount of time to return it.
This is the second one we've ordered, as the first one stopped working after about three weeks to a month. The light and flush work together, but the sensor in the potty that is supposed to go off after your child uses it does not. When I took the second potty out of the box, I noticed it was filthy, with scratches and dirt all over it. Because it appeared to have been used previously, I had to clean it and disinfect it with disinfecting wipes just to be sure. The product had the same issue right out of the box; the flush mechanism works, as does the light up face, but the sensor inside the potty does not. I would not recommend this to anyone because it was the second time in a row that I had the same problem, not to mention the fact that it arrived at my house looking like it had been used and returned. Something used by children should never be refurbished, and heaven forbid anything was tampered with on purpose.
My daughter learned to use the potty on this one, and the bells and whistles that other people claim to be a distraction worked for us because she was happy to use it and listen to the song. The product now has sensors that detect when the potty has been used, which is the product's dark side. A stray drop of water from a previous cleaning can set it off in the middle of the night, eerily around 2-a. m. 3 AM. Hearing children giggle in a quiet house while everyone else is sleeping and you're half asleep can be strange. br>br>I discovered this minor annoyance firsthand, and there is a switch on the back to turn it off, which could save you from losing a good night's sleep. br>br>Overall, we're happy with the product, and it's a great training tool once you've gotten rid of the haunting.
Boys can't use the pee guard because it's too short for them, and he pees out the front every couple of uses. The main reason for the three-star rating is because of this. After a second day of use, I turn off the power switch. My son thinks he's finished peeing because the water sensor on the bottom of the potty immediately starts playing music, even though he still has more to go. He now uses the flushing lever as a toy, so it isn't very useful. The product still works as intended, so there are no issues there, but I believe a basic potty with a taller pee guard would be more effective (you can see the seat height differences and pee guard differences in the picture between this and a very basic frog potty).
