These are for my 14-month-old twin girls, and I ordered two of them. One of the two suctioned perfectly on first inspection. The other, on the other hand, had no chance of sticking. I assumed it was just faulty (since the second one worked perfectly) and ordered a replacement from Amazon. In the meantime, at lunchtime, I put the working plate to the test with my rougher twin. br>br>She was overjoyed at the prospect of taking on the challenge. , as is his wont, decided to give it a shot. yank the plate from her tray At first, she failed miserably - Suctioning is extremely effective! BUT (and this is a big but!) ) because the plate's suctioning section is a twist-off piece My daughter eventually spun it until the plate came loose from the suction! She figured it out in less than a minute. br>br>Apart from this major flaw, I believe the plate is too shallow - I could have lived with it if it had worked as it was supposed to. br>br>It goes without saying that I'm not going to keep these. It's a pity, because I really like OXO products.
I genuinely want to like this plate. I like the brand, and the design is very clever; the suction is great, and because of the way the plate works, toddlers can't get their finger under the silicone suction to loosen it. br>br>However, there is a major flaw in the design. The silicone base twists away from the plate, making it easier to clean. Our toddler, on the other hand, quickly figured out how to twist the plate off the table, which piqued his interest in doing so. This is extremely inconvenient. The only caveat is that if you notice your child beginning to twist, you should be able to arrive before the plate is unscrewed. br>br>I mean, I get that it makes it easier to clean, but if the plate worked properly, the base shouldn't get that dirty in the first place. And it would work better than any suction plate I've used if it wasn't twisted. So, yes. br>br> We'll keep it because it's still better than a regular plate, but it doesn't impress me.
This suction divider plate is a MAJOR GAME CHANGER! Since she turned one, the little one has gone from eating anything to being extremely picky, throwing most of her food on the floor. I became concerned about her nutrient intake and spent the entire day preparing various foods in the hopes that she would enjoy SOMETHING, anything. It took a lot of effort. I'd been looking for a good plate and bowl that would stick to the tray no matter how hard she pulled or flipped it. Finally, I came across the OXO Tot brand, and not only have the bowls and plate withstood her attempts to throw them, but she's been happily eating almost everything in them. When toddlers throw their food, it's usually because they're overwhelmed, not because they don't like it or because they're full. Putting the food on the divided plate gives mealtime a little more structure, and she's not only cleaning the plate, but she's also finishing her cup of milk! (She had previously thrown that on the ground as well. )br>(This item was not given to me as part of a promotion, and I paid full price for it! This is my genuine and unvarnished opinion. lol).
This suction bowl is the best suction bowl ever because of its serious Toddler Proof Power! br>br>I literally picked up my daughter's table by picking up the bowl that was still attached to it! THAT IS THE POWER OF SUCTION! (Please excuse the poor quality of the video. ) I had to use one hand to hold my phone. )br>br>I've purchased a lot of bowls! Munchkin, Tommee Tippee, Disney, and First Essentials are some of the most well-known brands. None of them could hold a candle to my 11-month-old daughter! I adore OXO TOT! br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br br>I own nearly every OXO TOT product! Oxo Tot products are of the highest quality and are built to last! It was well worth the few extra dollars to know I wouldn't have to buy replacements!.
The first time I used this product on my 9-month-old daughter, it worked perfectly. It stayed put, she couldn't take it off, and the dividers on the plate helped her distinguish between the various food options so she could feed herself. This plate, however, will not stick to the tray after the first time. The plate sticks if you pull straight up on it, but if you try to slide or tilt it, it falls off the high chair tray. In less than ten seconds, my daughter figured out how to remove it from her tray. It's simple to clean and has performed admirably in the dishwasher. If I needed it again, I'd probably buy it again, but I'd keep in mind that it doesn't stick well to trays.
This is a decent product that is durable, cleans up well, and does what it claims to do. It does, however, have some flaws. br>br>First and foremost, the suction power is excellent, which is a plus. It did, however, take some acclimating. I used to put my kids' lunches together and then go to try to break the suction so I could move the plates to the table when I first got these. This would cause the plate to "pop" up, causing all of the food to fall off. I discovered that you must almost hold the plate in place while reaching under the suction cup and shoving your fingers under it. br>br>Also, the cup portion of the plate is separate from the plate itself. It's a one-of-a-kind setup. My kids have been able to twist the plate off the suction cup on a couple of occasions, which completely defeats the purpose of this product. br>br>Overall, a disappointment. I still use regular plates with my children and don't use these nearly as often as I expected.
These suction plates are the best of all the suction plates we've tried (including EZPZ, which we also like). They stay put on the widest range of surfaces. We use them for dinner every night and when we travel (bring a ziploc or wet/dry bag to put dirty dishes in). When baby (now 13 months) was younger, the raised edges assisted her in learning to pick up food. Colors that are suitable for both men and women. Tip - If you twist the base off or on in front of your toddler, they'll figure out how to do it very quickly; we'd hold it tight so she couldn't turn it. She gave up trying eventually.
