Questions & Answers

What is the reason for the $290 price tag?

That's what I was thinking as well! Why are these cans nearly twice as expensive as those available in stores? It costs $38 for a can of the same size. At Walmart, it's 88 cents, so it'll cost you $155 total. For four cans, you'll have to pay $52.50 in taxes.

I'm curious how many scoops of powder there are in this. ?

561 is the weight of 8 ounces. The weight of 3206 grams 1 scoop equals 8. 7 grams. 561 8 oz. / 3206 g 64 g = 7 g 5196 scoops br>br>2 scoops per 4 oz. water = 5 oz. prepared formulabr>br>br>64. 5196 scoops divided by two equals 32. 161 is the result of multiplying 2598 by 5. 299 fl oz per canbr>br>I recommend getting a small kitchen scale and measuring it out at 8 fl oz. 7 grams per two ounces of water Using a scoop is inconclusive, and this formula costs 23 cents per ounce, so each bottle should cost around $1 if measured correctly.

What is the difference between this and the ready-to-feed version?

In comparison to ready-to-feed, I prefer the powder form. It's simple to make and inexpensive.

Is this something I could use for my mother?

Baby formula is what it is. Depending on the circumstances, I'm sure it'd be fine.

Formula that has been tainted
3/5

In our baby's formula, we discovered what appeared to be a dried bug. We previously discovered what appeared to be a small spider, but we weren't sure, so we tossed the formula. This is the second time something like this has happened.

It's fantastic, but it's extremely expensive
4/5

Our pediatrician put my daughter on this formula after trying several others. It has significantly reduced her vomiting, spit up, and general discomfort. br>br>The only drawbacks are the odor (which reminds me of old French fries) and the exorbitant price.

Formula for a New Life
5/5

My daughter went from screaming to sleeping to waking up a happy, beautiful child in less than 24 hours after using this formula. If your child has colic, try this! This is pricey, but it's comparable to breastmilk, and it's a good alternative to removing potential irritants from your diet.

It's pricey, but it's well worth it if you're suffering from acid reflux
5/5

It's pricey, but it's a good investment. This formula was recommended by our pediatrician for our newborn, who was colicky and had acid reflux. We are coming out of the acid reflex stage, so we will be weaning her off of this formula during month 4 because she has been on it for almost 4 months with no problems and is easy to digest. Yes, this formula is pricey, but it worked wonders for our little one's stomach. I'd strongly advise you to do so!.

If Nutramigen doesn't work, this is a lifesaver
5/5

Yes, it doesn't smell or taste good, but it saved my baby's life. He was suffering from terrible gas, and nutramigen was ineffective. I decided to give both the premixed and powder versions of this formula a shot on the spur of the moment. Both worked perfectly for him, and he was finally able to get rid of his gas! Prior to this, we were literally giving him gas drops every four hours. We're overjoyed that we've discovered a solution that works. He's been eating it for four months and is still enjoying it.

Fantastic outcomes
5/5

When we first started with Similac Pro Advance, we assumed the fussing, back arching, and constant gas were simply signs of a baby's development. Our daughter is our first child, and everyone, including the pediatrician, assured us that this is how babies are, and provided us with a variety of tips to help us reduce the gassiness. She didn't scream and cry all the time, but she was clearly uncomfortable a lot of the time, twisting and arching during and after feeding. br>br>One day, shortly after her two-month birthday, we changed her diaper and discovered a small amount of blood in her stool, which completely freaked us out. I called the pediatrician right away, and they took us in that night, along with the dirty diaper, and gave us Alimentum sample cans, stating that she most likely has a milk protein intolerance. It was an IMMEDIATE and MASSIVE change. Since then, there have been no issues. br>br>The formula is pricey, and I hope Similac is only charging this because of higher production costs, not to take advantage of customers who have few other options. But it is what it is, and it will pass as she matures. br>br>More than a month later, our precious little baby is still doing well on this formula, with only a minor reflux problem that appears to be improving.

For my baby, it's a lifesaver
5/5

I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so for this product because it has saved my baby's life. br>br>When my daughter was two weeks old, she developed colic for the first time, and we tried everything to help her. I tried mylicon, pepcid, and even gripe water (which I sometimes overdosed on), but none of them worked. She used to cry for almost the entire day, and it was heartbreaking to see her in that state. There was nothing that could make her feel better. I was both breastfeeding and giving formulated milk to her. Even my pediatrician had no knowledge of this product. br>br>When I switched pediatricians, she advised me to use it. I purchased it and began using it right away. I saw the result in 2 hours, and after 24 hours, there was a noticeable difference. She has improved dramatically in just five days. I've been using this product for 5 days now, and she's 7 weeks old. I cannot express how beneficial this product is in words. My baby is once again smiling, eating normally, and sleeping soundly. She was hungry before, but due to a colic problem, she couldn't eat. She wanted to sleep but couldn't because she was in so much pain, but now she's back to normal. br>br>As a mother, nothing makes me happier than seeing a happy baby. Yes, it is pricey, but it is worthwhile. br>br> Even if it's more expensive, I'd buy it because it's my baby's only source of nutrition. If I had known about this product sooner, my baby would not have suffered from such stomach pain for the past four weeks.

It accomplishes the task at hand
4/5

Because it's special, it's very expensive, so I was overjoyed when she was able to return to regular formula. As a baby, she had eczema caused by milk proteins, but the breakouts stopped after she switched formulas. However, the transition was difficult at first because she refused to eat and the SMELL! Regular similac gave her a cute little baby milk breath, but after drinking this similac, her breath smelled awful, so I understand why she didn't like it. Unfortunately, the only way to stop them from drinking it is to keep giving it to them until they become hungry enough to do so. Because it's thinner, they'll eventually consume more than regular similac.
