For months, I struggled with bleeding, cracking and pain, and I just assumed that was what I had to deal with while For my ignorance, I blame my mommy brain. Initially, I bought just one flange to try on my left side. I have very large breasts (34DD/G), and even the nurses at the hospital said I would need a larger flange. In actuality, I needed just the 21mm flange. It reduced my pumping time in half as soon as I started using it (after washing and sanitizing). The fact that I did not find this sooner left me feeling like an idiot. Using this pump will save me HOURS every day that would previously be spent pumping. With twins, a full-time job, and a part-time job, time is of the essence. Today's moms don't have much free time, which is why I didn't wish to pump when I had some. It was the 21mm on my left and the standard 24mm (that came with my Spectra) on my right. I have pumped twice with both. The fact that I have soft skin that stretches when I pump (my nibble goes into the top flange a little over an inch) might not be a problem for most. From October 1 to October 5 Nenesupply's flange works fine for the first 10 minutes of a pump session, but once I pump for longer than 10 minutes, my nipple starts to hit the end of the flange tube and creates a lot of discomfort. They screw on to the bottle within a relatively short distance, and it looks like they don't screw down all the way, but it doesn't affect suction and doesn't affect the appearance in anyway it's just that it looks like it isn't assembled completely. Aside from the length of the tube, these are an excellent and more economical alternative to Spectra flanges. As long as your skin is not soft and stretchy like mine, I recommend these over the Medela hack.

After pumping, I thought I needed a bigger nozzle, though it turns out you must measure the nozzle after fitting your nipple. A hard thing to do when your baby is so hungry, hungry, hungry when you first give birth. It is incredibly helpful to pump before you have your baby in order to determine what size you need. My original Spectra S2 came with a 24mm flange and a 28mm flange. I purchased the 21mm flange since the 24mm and 28mm It's true that the tunnel portion of the flange is shorter than the ones that come with the pump, but I doubt it has any impact on The Spectra pump comes with bottles that fit this. When you need a smaller size, this would be a better option than the expensive ones from Spectra.
