Hello! No, these Natural nipples are only intended for use with Avent Natural bottles.
The smallest nipple, size 0, is the slowest! It's the first flow, and the only place I can find them is on Amazon! My granddaughter is 5 months old and has already graduated to the Size 1 nipple! Because the flow was too fast, anything larger would cause her to choke!

This bottle nipple in size 0 is the same as a premie nipple. I use it with the glass bottles from Philips Avent. I have a newborn who is breastfed but gets a bottle every now and then when we go out, and I'm getting ready for daycare in a few months. I started with the bottle's size 1 nipple, but the flow was too fast, and the baby was getting a lot of air and looking uncomfortable with big gulps. After reading a few blogs, I decided to purchase the size 0 bottle nipple, which is designed for preemies but also works well with breastfed babies. The flow is considerably slower than that of the size 1; When I turn the bottle upside down, the size 0 continues to drip, but at a much slower rate of about one drop every five seconds. Baby appears to be at ease with the size 0 nipple, and he suckles with the same amount of effort as he nurses. And it took about 15 minutes to feed 3 oz, which is pretty close to the recommended time for paced feeding. To reduce the risk of nipple confusion, the nipple has a wide base that mimics breast feeding. ***update*** I recently discovered that if you store a bottle in the refrigerator and then warm it, the air inside expands, and when you feed the baby, that pressure can push out a stream of milk, making the flow faster than it should be. Simply twist the top open to release some air and allow the pressure to equalize, and the flow will return to its previous very slow rate. br>br>If you found my review to be useful, please click the link below. Mommy, on the other hand, needed to return to her job. Then daddy managed to get the baby to enjoy bottles. Then daddy bought the baby's age-appropriate nipple, and the boob was no longer appealing. Then mommy's milk supply began to dwindle. Then both mommy and baby were unhappy (and baby freaked out), and mommy had to pump for many hours each day and night to get the milk supply to start replenishing. Then mommy got these nipples, and baby decided that boob wasn't such a bad thing after all. The story's moral is: Companies that make bottles and nipples are in cahoots with formula makers. Don't let them mess with your milk supply—start using premie nipples right away and continue using them until you stop breastfeeding. Because of all the nonsense I've had to put up with in order to get things back on track, I've given it a one-star rating.
I'll admit it: I'm a sucker for a good story. Because I was mistakenly going by the age month my child was in when I first started using Avent bottles, I used the size 1 nipple and then the size 2 nipple. Then I began to use the slow flow nipples (the one with the Roman numeral I on it) by accident. That, too, was an error. My son was coughing and gagging all the time, and they were constantly leaking, so I went online and looked up how to stop them from leaking. To summarize, if you're breastfeeding, the size 0 nipple is recommended because it mimics the flow of the breast, but you must massage the area where the small vent is located. (I'm not sure why this is helpful, but it is. ) ) It was also suggested that the nipple vent be aligned with the small indent on the white band; I do this as well, and while I can't say whether it helps, I haven't had any issues with these nipples since. Complete honesty: These suggestions may not work for everyone, as each child is unique, but they worked for me, and I'll keep buying these nipples.
These are fantastic! They flow at a very slow pace, which is ideal for my preemie baby. She dislikes the fast/regular flow nipples, and when she drinks from them, she coughs a lot. She has no problems drinking from these, and they fit perfectly in the Avent bottles (fun fact: Avent natural bottles have the same size top as spectra bottles and can be used on an S1 or S2 pump?.
These were purchased to go with the Avent glass bottles. The bottles have size 1 nipples, but the flow was too much for my baby. I prefer these size 0 nipples to his size 0 nipples, which he is usually breastfed but occasionally given a bottle. When he drinks from these, he appears to be much more in control and at ease. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> We were able to successfully transition back to size 1 nipples at around 3 weeks old after I noticed my son was developing sucking blisters from trying to get milk from the size 0. While I believe the purchase was worthwhile, keep in mind that you may only require them for a short time.
If you're breastfeeding, keep these nipples on all the time. On the rare occasions when she isn't breastfed, my 5-month-old is still doing well on this flow of nipple. I love that these can be paired with the glass avent bottle, as this is one of only two nipples we were able to convince her to take. br>br>Advice for beginners:
- When feeding baby, make sure the dent in the nipple is aligned with the divet in the plastic ring and that it's pointed up; the goal is to let air out and prevent colic; this is why people say they leak - It's simply not aligned correctly. br>- Replace these after a few months because the baby's sucking can widen the hole and cause them to flow faster. br>- If you're breastfeeding, open the bottle wide for the baby (as they would for the boob) and feed them in a pacified manner. We didn't do paced feeding because the baby preferred the bottle; however, once we made her work for the milk, like with the boob, she returned.
For our newborn twins, I purchased three packages of these nipples. Because of the overflow of milk, I noticed a lot of leakage and our baby boys choking on occasion. It took me three weeks to notice that one of the packages had size 1 nipples in it. I feel stupid because I never knew where or how to check until I washed the flowers last night and noticed little lines around the nipples within the petals. That struck me as odd, until I looked at the others and noticed "0" in the flower petals of the other nipples. The lines were actually 1's, and I had no idea that was the size. Because our boys are mostly breastfed, we've been supplementing them with these 6 nipples. It explains why they would sometimes spill milk all over the place and why they would occasionally become ill and vomit. I would have given a 5 star review if it weren't for that, but the fact that we received two size 1 nipples irritates me greatly. I'm also annoyed with myself for failing to notice the numbers sooner.
