I've seen size 2 with one hole and size 2 with two holes, to tell you the truth. The newborn starter kit included a size 2 with one hole, and a three-pack of 9oz bottles included a size 2 with two holes. Both sets originated in different parts of the world. My son seems to prefer the single hole because he wasn't dribbling as much before we switched to the double holed size 2. I'd also like to know which style is "older" and which is "newer," as I'd like to replace my two-holed nipples with one-hole nipples.
These are faulty; they should have two holes, but only have one that is the same size as the newborn ones.
Hello! This Avent Natural Slow Flow Nipple is designed for children under the age of one year.
It's possible that the faster flow (2's) will leak a little. However, these nipples are flimsier than the Avent ones I've used in the past, and when I shake the bottle, the formula spills all over the place. It irritates me greatly!

Keep in mind - The milk should come out of these nipples through two holes, but the ones that Amazon is shipping only have one. We only realized this after we had opened and used them (and were perplexed as to why our baby was taking so long to eat and eating so little). To be clear, the nipple's number is "2," as is the packaging, but the nipple is a 1. We have one, two, and three sizes of this exact nipple, and we know the two has two holes. We also checked with Avent, and they believe these were mis-labeled. made by hand We attempted to simply order more because the last time we ordered these exact ones, we received correct ones, but so far, all eight packages of nipples have been defective, which is extremely frustrating.
We have sizes 1, 2, and 3 of the "old style" nipples, as well as sizes 0 and 2 of these ultra soft nipples with the spiral. I'd never had a problem with the nipples leaking until I bought these as a replacement to have more size 2's on hand, and they consistently leak between the nipple and the ring every time we use them on glass bottles, and most of the time with plastic bottles. The ultra soft spiral nipples that came with a 4 pack of the 9 oz bottles work perfectly with the other size 2 nipples that are exactly like these. These could just be a bad batch of product; we usually love these ultra soft nipples and the "old style" nipples, but for some reason, these leak! As a result, I've given it one star.
They leaked from the colic hole as well as around the nipple where the ring is, which was the absolute worst. My valuable breastmilk was wasted all over the place, including on the baby. I was stranded because I hadn't brought the bottle's original nipple with me. Why would they make a nipple with so many flaws? Purchase these at your own risk. If you do, you'll be sorry. In my photo, you can see where it's pouring out from around the nipple and ring, as well as at the bottom of the ring.
Nipples to die for! I'd heard some complaints about the nipples collapsing or leaking, but I decided to give them a try because I really like the originals. In the months and months that I've been using these nipples, I've only had two of them collapse. It was only because there was an air lock that I was able to get out. I unscrewed the lid and screwed it back on, and everything was fine; it's not a nipple issue, but rather how the bottle was put together at the time, and I've never had a problem with these nipples leaking.
These are not the same as the Avent nipples of the past. They're softer and leak all over the place. I can't seem to locate the original nipples, which is such a shame!.
These have recently undergone a "style" change, as well as a leak. I've been using the original avent bottles and nipples with no problems, but I'm not sure when they'll figure out how to fix the leaks in the new design. Even the store had the new leaky type, so I had to go to the baby store and search the back of all the racks for the old style.
Every single one of them! I'm not sure if the design was changed or what, but the seal on these nipples leaks horribly. It's so disheartening to see breast milk thrown away and my son drenched after a meal. It was disheartening to see breast milk wasted and my son drenched after a feeding with the Avent one. I really wanted to like these nipples because I really like the glass bottles that go with them, but they're wasteful, messy, and completely useless to me.
The leaking is, as it turns out, entirely due to user error. It no longer leaks if the notch in the nipple is aligned with the notch on the lid. If the baby pulls or yanks on the nipple, you might get a drop or two every now and then. These nipples, on the other hand, are PERFECTLY FINE!.
