We purchased the Pria 85 for our last two children, but they were damaged in a car accident, so we had to replace them. (By the way, the seats did a fantastic job during the accident, and my three-month-old slept the entire time! )br>In the event of an accident, car seats must be replaced, and we would continue to use Maxi Cosi. We thought the new 3 and 1 would be an upgrade this time, so we decided to give it a shot. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! Sure, with all the infant padding in there, it feels nice, but once you take it out; There's hardly any solace left. Underneath the cover, you can feel each curve of the plastic frame. The cupholders are absurdly small. If we had kept the seat, I would have had to replace all of our sippy cups, and on top of that, we couldn't get it mounted properly in our large expedition, which had no trouble with the Pria 85 previously. br>br>Instead, we returned them almost immediately and ordered the Pria 85 Max direct from Maxi Cosi for $220 each on sale. That seat belongs in a different league altogether. This one is a million times better! Better fabric, more comfortable infant inserts (it's stable foam, not just a pad), magnetic chest clips for easy one-handed unlocking, and a cup holder that's the right size.
The seat is difficult to tilt when the child is sleeping, which is disappointing! We had a maxi cosi for three years and were considering upgrading, but I'm considering returning it and returning to the old seat. My daughter's head continues to fall forward.
My 6-month-old daughter is a perfect fit for this car seat. I was worried it wouldn't fit in my smaller car, but it did; the passenger seat has to be completely forward in order for anyone to sit there (because it's leaned back rearward). Car seat is lovely. My daughter found it to be very relaxing. Not only because of the beautiful colors, but also because of how safe and secure they are.
OH MY GOODNESS, OH MY GOODNESS, OH MY GOODNESS This seat has made a huge difference in my son's happiness! It is both comfortable and safe for him! So happy! He is 11 months old and is very picky about travel. He does not enjoy it at all. He has become much more relaxed in the car as a result of this seat, and he now falls asleep on occasion while we are driving.
I was hoping to fall in love with this car seat! There were a few things I noticed when I placed my boys in it in our living room. First and foremost, the cushioning was sufficient, the fabric was attractive, and it did not appear to be too hot, and the boys appeared to be at ease in it. The seat is quite deep, and I'm not sure it would have fit my one son comfortably. The buckle appeared to be very cheap and almost had sharp edges that could potentially dig into their skin, which was the main issue I noticed during this initial fitting. Other reviewers have complained about the thin straps, but I didn't find this to be an issue. Also, the car seat was surprisingly light for its size, which made me wonder how safe it would be in the event of a side impact collision. Again, none of this was a deal breaker; I liked the seat, but the installation was a problem, so I returned it. br>I would have kept it if I only needed it as a forward-facing car seat, but my boys are 11 months old and weigh about 20 pounds, so I need it rear-facing for at least another year. Again, the wonderful cushioning and size of this car seat would have made it an excellent forward-facing seat for them, but rear-facing is a disaster! It didn't even fit properly in my car. It shouldn't have been a problem because I drive a Toyota Highlander. My driver seat had to be moved forward, and while the seat was simple to install, we couldn't get it tight enough no matter how hard my husband tried. With a single finger press on the back of the car seat, the entire seat and base would flip forward to the point where the car seat's head would touch the head rest of the highlander's seat. This is a major issue! In other words, if we were in a collision, the seat could flip forward with my child in it. Whatever we tried, we couldn't get the seat to stop doing it. We both read the instruction manual several times and attempted to tighten or adjust it. But it wasn't going to work. It's not clear why it wouldn't latch down properly, but it'll be returned! I'm also looking forward to trying out the Britax Marathon, Britax Emblem, and Graco 4ever. I was hoping that among all of them, I would find one that would work, but alas, this is not it.
We've had a Maxi Cosi car seat for the past five years. We like it a lot. It's tough, simple to put together, and it keeps our baby safe. It isn't too hot either.
The pinnacle of automobile seating. It puts the rest of the world to shame. The padding is extremely plush, soft, and cozy. It is one of my baby's favorite places to sleep. The padding can be adjusted to fit your needs, and the color is lovely and vibrant. This car seat is 100% highly recommended!.
