The instructions were confusing, and the illustrations in the directions referred to parts that were not included in our product, such as a large sleeve for the directions that apparently used to be on the back of the car seat. We also had a large red strap that wasn't identified in the photo, which made it difficult to figure out what to do with it at first. The red carrying strap was mentioned later in the directions, which is exactly what this is, but it was not shown in the diagram, which caused confusion. We have four children and have gone through a lot of car seats, so I don't believe the problem is with us, but rather that the directions were not completely updated for the previous model's revisions. When the directions didn’t seem’t match the product, I wonder if what we received was authentic, but’m 97% sure it is at this point. br>br>The seat itself appears to be sturdy and slim in comparison to many models, which is nice. Our little guy is 2, but on the smaller side, so I try to imagine him sitting rear facing at 50 pounds instead of 28 in this seat, and there doesn't appear to be a lot of leg room, but he fits great right now. I'm also not sure the cup holder will stay in place, but it has so far, and in the end, safety is more important to me than a cup holder. Finally, I'd like to point out that removing the cover to wash it appears to be a multi-step process, which is something I wish I'd known before purchasing. I bought this to replace a Graco infant seat that snaps in and out of the base in my car. For the husband's car, we still need to find a replacement. I'm not sold on this model, but I'll think about it some more before deciding whether or not we want something different for the other car.
I own a Subaru Ascent and have six children, two of whom are in car seats and two of whom are in booster seats. They fit perfectly in my car; I put one on each side and one of the older children sits in the middle, with plenty of room. The material is fantastic; it's not hard like most car seats; instead, it's soft and made of some sort of phone material, so the child is extremely comfortable. My 8-year-old son didn't like it either. month- neither my three-year-old son nor I year- When we went on a 2-day trip, the kids whined. I strongly suggest these car seats for a three-hour drive. Personally, I believe it is well worth the investment.
My daughter's hip dysplasia brace (rhino cruiser) could only fit in this carseat, so I bought it. Surprisingly, the various hip dysplasia casts, braces, and slings offer few options for parents with infants and toddlers. She fits and is quite secure and SAFE with a short impact resistant styrofoam wedge as a wedge. Having said that, the seat is extremely tall. In the back of a Tahoe, it takes up a lot of space in the reason facing position. However, the Dino Wedge (save $15 and get a garden kneeling pad for only $7) is a better option. We gained a couple of inches of leg room (just like I did when I was 95). The latch belt is too big to properly secure the seat; it simply won't fit in the extra three inches. So I had to use the seatbelt, which was inconvenient but at least kept me secure. In order to keep this seat secure in the rear-facing position, you must use the top of the seat tie down. I'm not a pro at installing car seats, and this was challenging, but there were no other options that didn't jeopardize my daughter's hip development or her safety in the car. I feel better about all the sweat and rearranging now that it's installed and she appears to enjoy it.
This is a real pain in comparison to installing my infant car seat (which took more than 10 minutes and required listening to a lot of whining cab drivers). Also, there is no head support for a sleeping child in the car, so my child's head and neck are in an odd position. I've never been in an accident, but I imagine that if I were, my child would be seriously hurt. This is also difficult to transport, which is one of the main reasons I bought it. I didn't realize all of this until after the return policy had expired because I only took my child in cabs on occasion. I wish I could send this garbage back to the sender.
I was hesitant to buy this seat because so many people had complained about how difficult it was to put it together. Although I did not attempt to install it backwards, it was a breeze forwards. This device has a small footprint and is made of extremely high-quality materials. This one appears to be a sleek little race car harness setup when compared to the larger car seats. The super comfortable and plush chest/shoulder pads, as well as the ingenious LATCH clips (which I haven't seen anywhere else! ), were all things I appreciated. I really like this seat and wish I had chosen it for my other kids as well — it would have made setting up a three-across setup a lot easier.
It appears to be a good product, but it didn't come with an instruction manual, so I'm not sure how to install it for my rear-facing toddler. It also took an extra week to arrive, and I'm running out of time because I'm due to give birth next week.
I got a one. I had a 5-year-old, a 17-year-old, and I needed more space in the middle seat of my Ford Explorer. I now have a lot more room for my 17-year-old! My boys are comfortable in the seats, which are heavy duty and sleek. Definitely a good investment.
I like that this car seat is narrow because I have three grandchildren to fit in the back seat of my Ford Edge. I didn't like how heavy this one was, so I had to have it installed by someone else. It's not going to be easy.
