To reduce glare, I already had a pair on my front side windows. I bought these for my daughter's car because she liked them so much.
When the window is fully raised with the shade in place, it returns to its original position. It didn't work out.
It's well worth it because it keeps the sun out of my family's eyes in the front and back seats. I strongly suggest it.
It was simple to put together and provides adequate shade.
The suction cups have a foul odor. No stick. Worried that the baby will grab it and pull it the entire ride, making it more of a distraction than a sleep aid.
a 5- For me, this is the standout item. A look at: Bug on the Move 2 Pack Roller Shades for Cars, Trucks, Vans, SUVs, Sun Protection for Babybr>br>I tossed the wrapper/container aside when I first opened the package containing these shades; This proved to be a bad idea because the instructions for using the shades are printed on the inside of the paper container. br>br>And, while I figured out how to use the shades in two different ways, reading the instructions first would have made the process go a little faster and easier. br>br>What I discovered was that there were a lot of things about the Travel Bug roller shades that I liked, but only one item, and it wasn't even a big item, that I thought could be slightly better. br>br>On the'really like' side of the equation, I appreciate how adaptable these shades are in terms of how they can be 'hung' across a window. The plastic/rubber 'hooks' attached to the top of the shades are the first way to hang them. Using the hooks on my car yielded less than ideal results in my tests. br>br>While they easily slipped over the top of the window, when I tried to use the hooks on the car's front windows, I discovered that the hooks held the shades at an angle that didn't work very well because the front window is curved on top. br>br>Because of the angle of the shades, the bottom of the shade ran across the door frame, making it impossible to open the door without first raising the shades. I didn't mind the angle because the top of the back window isn't curved, but I did notice that when I closed the door with the hooks over the top of the window, there was a small gap between the window and the door frame; This is not the best option. Fortunately, the package includes four extra suction cups that can be inserted into the hooks to secure the shades on the inside of the window without the use of the hooks. This easily resolved the issues I had with the hooks on both the front and back windows for me. br>br>On the front window, I was able to lower the suction cups below the curved area, allowing the shades to hang straight down. Because of this position, a portion of the window above the suction cups was left 'uncovered,' but the shades could still be used in the front. br>br>Using the suction cups on the back windows solved the problem of a gap between the window and the frame. I didn't notice any large 'uncovered' area on the window above the suction cups in this situation because I was able to hang the suction cups high on the window. br>br>When it came to the suction cups, both the two at the top of each shade and the one at the bottom that holds the shade in place when it is pulled down, I found that each suction cup worked really well and held the shades firmly in place against the window. I normally have to pull on the small 'tag' on each cup to remove it from the window because the cups hold so well. This is beneficial to me because it decreases the likelihood of the window shade becoming loose and flapping around on the window. br>br>I also liked how the shades were retracted in a way that I thought was more'secure' than other shades I'd tried before. A small button can be found on the side of each frame with the Travel Bug brand. I'm putting my finger on that button, which I believe needs to be pressed. The way the shade rolls back up is by design rather than by chance. I like this method because other shades I've tried have had a method where pulling down slightly on the shade and then letting go causes the shade to retract. br>br>In terms of blocking capabilities, this shade appears to work just as well as other similar types of shades I've used before. This is a significant benefit for me, as the blocking effect is one of the main reasons I bother to use shades on my car windows. br>br>Another reason I like these shades is that they can easily be moved from side to side thanks to the 'holder' unit's ability to slide back and forth, even with the top suction cups firmly in place. This adjustability, combined with the fact that neither the 'hooks' nor the top suction cups need to be physically moved, allows me to easily and quickly move the shades to better follow the position of the sun as the car travels. br>br>All-in-all, it's a win-win situation. All in all, I'm a big fan of these hues. I do wish the shades were a little wider; the actual shade is 14 inches wide, and I've discovered that a good portion of the back window is exposed on both sides of the shades. The ability to easily adjust the shades left/right/right as the sun position changes is beneficial, but a slightly wider shade would be preferable. This is a 5-star rating for me. br>br> item of the week; especially when compared to other pulley systems I've used down tones in the past. It can be mounted to a window in two different ways, has position adjustability, suction cups that stay firmly in place, and a'retract' button that makes the shade less likely to roll down. Unfortunately, we were unable to use these. It's a good product, and I like how it can be rolled up with the touch of a button. It did not fall because of the suction cups. The problem we had was that the shades didn't cover the entire window well enough. We were driving on a sunny day, and the shades didn't do much to protect baby from the sun; even in the shaded areas, the sun seemed to be shining through. I prefer the fabric shades and will most likely return to them. Our baby doesn't like the sun on his face, so this didn't provide enough coverage or shade.
They do an excellent job of preventing the sun from shining directly in my children's faces. My son used to cry every time the sun got in his eyes. When we go on road trips, these shades protect my infant and toddler so that there isn't chaos and nonstop crying because the sun isn't in their faces. If the sun is always in your child's eyes, these are a must-have. I have tinted windows, and they make a huge difference!.
