The fact that the shades are available in two different shades is one of my favorite features of them. The first set is transparent, while the second is a shade darker. The disadvantage of this shade is that it kinks the wire due to the fold and twist closure method. The sun shines directly into my son's eyes because the top and bottom center are permanently bent. Except for the baby, it will provide shade to the rest of the vehicle.
My toddler is extremely sensitive to sunlight on her face, so I bought this for her. I put this in the passenger windows of my car because she usually screams while driving. It worked great, and it kept the sun off her face long enough that she didn't scream and tolerated the rides home better. I had my doubts about their ability to stay awake on their own, but they have performed admirably thus far.
