There was a big difference in size. It went back as needed because it couldn’t accommodate a premie baby sitting in it, so I got it for a regular baby in it. It sat out the baby alive and didn't cause an explosion. Other than that, it is soft at the back, perhaps as useful for an older, more tender baby.
