I really wanted to like this product because I was looking for a cheap car seat insert for my newborn baby that would keep her head stable and help her fit snuggly and safely in the car. My daughter's head was sweaty and her backside (where she touched the soft insert) was extremely hot after the first time I used it. I assumed it was due to the fact that we were using both inserts (perhaps too much insulation?). ) so we tried just the outer one, but it didn't work. Baby would scream in the car, and we assumed she was just fussy or hungry at first. However, when we returned home to take her out, she was very hot. We tried using fans and cranking up the air conditioning in the car to maximum, but it didn't help. I was in such a bad mood that my husband and I decided to stop using the product entirely. Spend the extra money on something that breathes rather than something that traps heat, like this one. You'll avoid a lot of pain!.
Car seat straps sleeves are not included. You'd think that given the nature of the item, they'd be included. All of the other head support items I've seen have strap sleeves, so I'm disappointed this one doesn't. The color is also described as being pink with gray, but it is actually more of a creamy white, as you can see in the video.
My baby is a preemie, weighing only 5 pounds and 4 ounces. I needed something to give her head support in her car seat so she wouldn't fall out of her seat during long car rides. This is exactly what I needed. It keeps her in place by hugging her head just right. I'll be able to remove the inner insert to give her more space as she grows. It's also extremely soft and adorable.
It fits very tiny newborns thanks to the inner and outer padding, and then expands to fit a larger baby (maybe 0-3). 6 months. Snuggles the baby's head, warm and cuddly.
