I found some nice squares, but I needed something I could roll up and take with us quickly. I was a little hesitant because it was the most expensive one I could find, but it was well worth it! It isn't a cheap feeling or a thought. It's very light, but much thicker than a yoga mat, and it feels like you're pushing through fluffy clouds!! There was no strange odor when I took it out of the box, and it was very flat. It's also significantly larger than anticipated. The rug isn't quite 5x7 like the one shown, but it's still plenty big! It's also double-sided, with an all-gray pattern on the other side. I'm hoping it lasts as long as it appears! Definitely a good investment. Update! br>br> br>This mat is still looking brand new after just over a year. It has survived the birth of two children and the deaths of two dogs. There are no signs of wear, and if I get tired of one pattern, I simply flip it over for a change of pace. The quality and ease of cleaning have left me very impressed! It's ideal for tummy time, first crawls, first steps, and falls, and it's now a nice area in the toy room.
I'm writing because I recently purchased a Baby Care Play Mat and an Ofie Mat from Little Bot. I expected to find the Ofie mat to be far superior after conducting extensive research, but the opposite is true. Although both mats are the same thickness, the Baby Care is significantly heavier and more substantial. The surfaces are identical, but the Baby Care mat has a much nicer squishiness and feel, as well as the ability to lay flat. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the Baby Care mat outperforms the Ofie mat. I kept the Ofie, but I bought a Baby Care for each of our two main locations.
Stains from markers are impossible to remove. I really wanted to like this mat because it was such a big investment at $150. However, despite being designed for children, it was not child-friendly in terms of markers and stains. My children were coloring with markers when they accidentally spilled them on the mat. I attempted to clean it with water, but it was ineffective. I tried Lysol, but it didn't work. I experimented with alcohol and ended up causing harm to my body. The alcohol has left a permanent white streak on your skin. It altered the texture of the mat, making it oddly sticky. As a result, this side has suffered a setback. In addition, the reviewer who stated that it stains yellow is correct. It's strange; I'm not sure how or why, but the edges have turned yellow, similar to how certain plastics do after a while, and it's been about ten months since I bought it. This mat is not at all something I would recommend. For a mat that costs $150, it has a short lifespan.
The mat is too hard for a 7-month-old to roll from tummy to back on. This mat has a hard plastic feel to it and is best suited for children in the toddler age range. It's far too difficult for an infant's head to handle. br>Now I need to go out and buy a soft quilt to go over this hard mat. I'm debating whether or not to keep the mat for a future toddler stage. br>Way too expensive It's way too difficult for a baby! I'm disappointed.
It's still amazing, and our 60 pound dog just spent a week playing with a 75 pound dog on it with no rips except one teeny tiny one from a few months ago that you can't see. br>October 2020 - br>Replacing our old, dog-hair-covered area rug with this play mat was the best decision I could have made. This is fantastic. I am ecstatic that we have a 5-month-old and a large dog. It's just that I wish it was available in larger sizes. In the future, instead of rugs or carpets, my entire house will be covered in these. The only drawback is the size, which makes it more difficult for my son to grip in socks than carpet. So we let him play barefoot, and he has no problems, and the dog enjoys it as well. It's comfortable to wear and long-lasting. After a month, there is no sign of wear. I'm also a big fan of the design. It's a lot easier for our roomba to vacuum than the rug. The adults, as well as our 65-year-old nanny, enjoy lying on it because it is so comfortable. And it was used to go to the bathroom by my mother-in-law's dog (1 2) I washed it twice and it cleaned up beautifully each time, much better than a rug would. I'm glad we got it.
I already had two BabyCare mats at home and had been using them for a year, but I wanted to add another to my living room. While I like the Ofie mat's aesthetic design, my initial impression is that it is quite slippery. Because it isn't as heavy as the BabyCare mat and doesn't have as much grip, it slides a little on carpet and even more on a hard floor. It's something I have to deal with on a regular basis. The BabyCare mat is thicker and more durable than the BabyCare mat. The Ofie mat, on the other hand, will remain in my possession because of its attractive design.
We bought two of these, and while the quality appears to be satisfactory, the merchant's product description is untrustworthy. First, despite the fact that it was advertised as being 6 minutes long, it was actually only 6 minutes long. These mats are only 5 feet long, with a total length of just over 6 feet. Second, and perhaps more worryingly, I ordered the Oracle/Zen Line mat the second time around. That's not what I expected when I got there. Instead, a Triangle/Zen Line mat was delivered to me. Surprisingly, that isn't an option (the Triangle mat is supposed to have Country Roads on the opposite side, not Zen Line). Needless to say, I will not be purchasing this product again, especially given its high cost.
This mat is fantastic in my opinion; we adore it and it is visually appealing. Our daughter is only just learning to crawl, so this mat's extra thick, durable foam is ideal for the occasional tumble. She also enjoys playing on it, and it's simple to clean. The only reason I gave it four stars was because of how it was packaged. There was no box; only a flimsy plastic wrapper that was filthy and had a large hole in it. Fortunately, the mat was undamaged, but for the price I paid, it should have come in a box with better protection.
