UPDATE 2: On 5/24, the musical cupcake continues to work. I re-added one star because it was so simple to get a replacement for this cupcake's batteries, which should last longer than the first. br>br>This is a really cute play mat. The vibrant colors and fun hanging toys appeal to me. We've only had it for a few weeks, and the cupcake doesn't always play music. It does so at times and not at others. And we haven't even used it enough to warrant it already breaking. Now I have to look for another musical toy to hang on the wall. My son has Fisher Price and Infantino play mats, and we've never had a problem. The mats were in use for months, and the musical toys were always functional.
It's a bit of a bargain. It's very adorable. Don't get me wrong: I'm a big believer in the power of positive thinking The quality of the material is not poor. But the price they're asking isn't worth it. The dangling toys appear to be extremely low-cost. The "musical" toy won't even turn on unless you press a specific button inside it, making it practically useless because it won't go off when the baby plays with it unless you specifically click it for them. It's very adorable. Simply put, it is not a good investment. At all. It does, however, appear to be the same as the photos. The carters tag on the side is essentially what you're paying for.
However, the theme and colors were so adorable that I decided to spend the extra money and have no regrets! It's super cute, and the grow-with-me style means it'll last a lot longer than other models that don't detach, etc.
It went in and out of stock several times, but it was well worth the wait because it was exactly what I was looking for. The cushioning on the bottom pad is excellent. It was simple to put together. Except for the poles, the majority of the parts are machine washable (though I have yet to do so). The toys can be hung in any way you like. The crinkle-sounding ones are a hit with the baby. For tummy time, the Ice Cream plush is a lot of fun.
However, it's defective. The item was delivered today, and some of the toys are defective, particularly the unicorn with the teether, which is my primary concern. It's difficult to tell from the photo, but everything is bent and ripped. It's ripped at the top, where the hook connects. So if you make one wrong move, the whole thing will come apart. That's a problem because it becomes a choking hazard, and you won't be able to reattach your unicorn as a result. Because the mirror is partially clouded, baby can't even look at it to see what's in it. Because it's only cosmetic, I'm not too worried about it.
It's a little pricey for something so basic, but it's well worth it due to the high quality. Because they aren't cheap, I want something that will last if I buy one. I had previously purchased a baby Einstein, but it had broken during the assembly process. As a result, this isn't going to break anytime soon. Definitely a must-have for any young lady!.
Material is both strong and soft. It was very early when we arrived. The tummy time pillow is my favorite; it's the perfect size to last her as she grows. The mat could've been a tad thicker, but it's still wonderful and perfect aside.
