With so many people saying the picture is misleading, you'd think they'd either change the picture or put something more prominently on display that says ONE ITEM. I should have done my homework and read the reviews first. This is something I would not have purchased. I'm embarrassed because I gave it as a gift. I had no idea it was sized, either. That is entirely my fault.
When Baby was a newborn at the age of 7, she fit perfectly in it. At 6 weeks old, he's weighing in at 4 pounds. at 10. She'd already outgrown it at 3 lbs. To get more use out of it, I recommend purchasing a different insert.
It seemed a little pricey for just one, but it appears to be well constructed. I haven't tried it out yet because Babe isn't here yet, but I did wash it and it's ready to go. Even after washing, I think the mesh side (grey side) feels a little rough, so I'm not sure I'll use it.
Our daughter hated the mamaroo until we got this insert; the reason for the 4 stars is that it came in when she was only 2 weeks old (only 7lbs) and her head is already at the peak of the insert; we're not sure how much longer it will last in terms of size; however, the money was well spent in our opinion because it has given me a few breaks throughout the day.
The rockaroo does not stay on with this insert, which I purchased because my daughter was 6 pounds at birth and I assumed she would require it. It irritates me a lot. After about 2 minutes, the rockaroo decides that the weight isn't evenly distributed and switches off. I removed it, and it will probably stay on for another 6 months or so. It lasts for 8 minutes if I prop her head up with blankets to keep it from tilting to one side, and it shuts off when she scrunches up and sits too low. At the very least, it stays on a little longer without the insert. br>br>However, she is a big fan of rockabilly. I just don't think it's worth it to spend money on a newborn insert.
The fabric is very soft and breathable. This insert was a must for us because we have a preemie, and it fits perfectly.
We washed it right away after receiving it, as we do with everything before putting it in our baby's mouth. All of the instructions were followed to a tee. A soft blanket was the only other thing in the washing machine. The fabric was completely ruined when we removed it from the washing machine. I'm not sure why this happened; the blanket was fine; however, for the price, it's extremely disappointing.
If your baby is under 14 pounds or can't hold his or her head up, you'll need an insert. This is extremely soft. br>br> Pretty. Cleaning is a breeze. There have been no complaints. br>br>.
