Questions & Answers

Can anyone give me a rough idea of the appropriate size gap between the bottom of the mud flap and the road? I don't know how much to take off of mine. Does anyone have any ideas?

3 if I had to guess A level piece of ground with a trailer attached must be at least 4 inches deep. If you want it to look good, remove an inch at a time. Mine is about four inches from the ground with the trailer attached. I think the price is a bit My part is too short, but it would be ideal if I had left 3".

Will I need to buy an adapter to go from 2 1/2" to 2" so I'll only have to pay for ?

Can you tell me how I can get replacement screws for the Rock Tamer? I had two screws securing it to the hitch that are missing. ?

We offer these screws separately for Rock Tamers hubs as they're specially designed for them. The part number for this is There is only one screw in the RT052.

The tires are starting to rip after 3,500 miles
3/5

It was disappointing. Taking a new travel trailer and a huge road trip from Kansas to Yellowstone led to the purchase of a brand new travel trailer. A roundtrip trip of 3,500 miles was mostly taken on the highway. The Rocktamers were set to the middle length which placed the outside of my tire just exactly in line with the center of the tool. The next notch out was about 4" farther, and that seemed excessive. In the instructions with the Rocktamers, the flap is to be extended 2" beyond the edge of the tires. Mine didn't. Even though the flaps do not stick out as far (and do not catch as much wind) as they used to, they are starting to tear at The attached photo can be viewed here. I have used these flaps only once (albeit, a very large amount of time) and they are now damaged. Having these would also be a great way to protect our boats, which is something I was hoping for, since they are long-term solutions. The only reason for two stars instead of one is because everything else is so great A sturdy piece.

There are no recourses for replacing a product that is decent
3/5

These were purchased a month ago and sat for a month before being used. When I used them on my first outing, they seemed like a good fit. On the fly I noticed a tear on one flap after driving for five days. The replacement part is not available, and I have tried my best to locate it. In addition to not having an option to return, I can not locate a manufacturer online to contact directly. For $300, I cannot return the item. The flaps seem to be durable enough to last more than a single Frames of this quality are hard to find. This is obviously not the case with the mud flap! My product is no longer functional, so I seem to be stuck with it. I am hoping that I can resolve this issue.

The Rock Tamers failed to fulfill their promise
5/5

Overall, there are no real complaints about this product. In contrast, if you own a 2017 Silverado 2500 6 X 4, you are not eligible. Do not buy this truck without dealing with the exhaust first. 4 L double cab pickup DO NOT BUY WITH A PROBLEM. In response to my inquiry about the distance, I called Rock Tamers support. A photo of the exhaust pipe and RT mudflap on this truck. According to what I was told, you shouldn't have any issues if you have at least 8 inches of clearance. It is not true in any way. In my case, I had 8 1/4 inches to 9 inches. There is 75" clearance (angle cut pipe stock) from the mud flap to the hopper. As far as I knew, I was fine. As I drove my vehicle home from the camp ground (2hrs), I noticed blistering on the exhaust side of the mud flap and warping on the trailer side of the mud flap. I was shocked. As a result, I sent an email to Rock Tamers with pictures illustrating what I meant. The response was not received. My surprise at their lack of concern led me to send another email. In response, I received an email saying they were pretty busy but would contact me later that same After I replied to this email, I received a standard form letter recommending that the placement arms be moved and/or that a heat shield be used. My question was what the name of the company was which manufactured The thing I found interesting is that the warranty was not mentioned with the use of this heat shield as my original phone call explained to me. I guess that makes sense. In any case, I am not sure they have any warranty because there was damage and they didn't offer to replace the I truly believe that this could be a very good product if the exhaust blows directly onto the flap. The company, however, has no understanding of what customer satisfaction is. The 2017 Silverado 2500 Gas is a TERRIBLE PRODUCT! DO NOT BUY IT! Here's today's update It was Rock Tamers who caused the new mud flap to be installed. In addition to the heat shield, it might have been added. As soon as you get past the form letters, they are very understanding. This is my favorite! Love this stuff!.

This accessory is the best I have ever bought This accessory is the best I have ever bought In order to protect my 5th wheel I placed these behind my 2017 Ram 3500
5/5

To use them with the truck at a different ride height, I had to cut 2 inches off the When the truck is loaded and leveled, the tires are approximately 2 inches above the road. As far as I am aware, they are always mounted. They are only two inches from the rear bumper and sit lower than the rear park sensors. I drive a longbed dually, but I can turn my Montana 5th wheel easily with at least six inches of room in the turning arc. Tow mileage on my 5th wheel is over 3,500 miles in the 3 months I've owned it. There were lots of debris on the front side of these flaps, and I had to scrape and wash a lot of it off, but the 5-th wheel remained dent and chip-free.

The flaps on this website are among the best on the market
5/5

Could you please tell me what you think? The flaps on this website are among the best on the market. There was a lot to like about this product. The packaging was great, and the directions are clear and easy to follow. It even has a channel on You Tube where they can be seen. It may be a bit more expensive than many of them out there, but it is well worth the extra cost to buy these instead of These worked well on a 43-foot fifth wheel that had a lot of mud all over it in the front. As soon as I arrive at the RV park and set up shop, I simply remove the pin on my hitch and stow the unit under my RV in the belly storage compartment. For just the truck, I have a nice set of flaps that work very well, so I did not want to take them As a result, this was a good result. In regards to the quality, there is nothing cheap about it. Its build is made to last. Up to and including the nuts and bolts, everything is perfect. They are something I would purchase again without a doubt. To give you an idea what they look like on my 2014 Ram 3500 Dually, here are a couple of photos.

Here are some important details It is attached to the receiver hitch's MOUNT and not the actual hitch It has a decent user interface
4/5

The only reason I justify this price is because of Amazon, otherwise I would not be able to justify this outrageous price. Just so it is clear, this attaches to your ball mount or hitch mount, not the actual receiver. When ordering Rock Tamers, keep this in mind as there are two sizes of receiver for light duty trucks, one being large, and one being small. The price and value alone prompted me to give it four stars.

The quality is excellent
5/5

It is strong. A decent instruction manual is included in the package. A large wrench is required to adjust the system after installation, but it is included. Even though it took some elbow grease, it would be easier if mounted on the hitch first, so things would stay put. I had to use quite a few stainless bolts, washers, and nuts, especially to mount the logo plates, but the end result was worth it. Stylish and strong, and the hitch mount slides on and off easily. This looks like it will be a great way to keep stones and sand off my RV and I also used the hitch stabilizer to take out any tilt or jiggle to a hundred percent. It was expensive, but I'm glad I purchased this brand.
