It works for staples, but is challenging to use in iron mode
4/5

It is a pleasure to work with staples. This device must be triggered intermittently for it to work effectively in iron mode, or it will heat up There is a warning in the manual about this. I use this only for staples and find it's quite tricky to use. I don't want to burn out the device, so I don't use it for anything else. As a result of the bad iron mode, we take a point away. To use the iron mode, you need to melt the mesh into the plastic or weld it via plastic. I just use a standard soldering iron with a flat tip for that.

It is a great product and it is simple Fixing plastics on my ATV's and other vehicles will be no problem with this, and I will use it around the home as well
5/5

It comes with plenty of tips for a broad range of uses and is very easy to use. Rather than having to replace broken plastic, it would be worth the purchase to repair it.

The program works well
5/5

I love how easy it is to use this plastic welder! Though I have never used one before, I found the instructions to be very detailed and helpful. The repairs to a number of items aren't visible after a little paint and I have already repaired multiple items. This is a great item that you will not regret buying!.

Welder for plastics that works best
5/5

It is amazing to see that welder in action. In the past few months, my husband has fixed so many of our items with this product. After joining the pieces of plastic, the items work as they always did. If you are looking for a plastic welder, I would highly recommend this product.

The easiest way to join plastics
5/5

Wow, what a neat thing this is! Some plastic joints failed to stay together when I plastic welded them before. We will use this tool to ensure that it doesn't happen. You have found something interesting!.

There are not all kinds of uses for it, but some good ones are there
4/5

The app is OK, it has some good uses and some bad uses as well. Historically, I have welded / attempted to weld plastic with a hot air welder, a pencil style butane torch with an open pin point flame and a blade soldering iron tip, in addition to a soldering iron and solder. The plastic material is only used as filler and the existing plastic is fusing together just as it does. It is impossible to find a solution that fits all requirements. Temperature control is what I consider to be the most difficult aspect. There is a lot of heat needed to soften plastic, but once the plastic has softened, the temperature difference between a solid and a liquid mess is not too great. Being able to put the heat into a very small space is absolutely critical. There is a big difference between how easy it is to melt a small pool without burning through it if the plastic is thick. The easiest material to work with is thicker plastic, while thin plastic is the most challenging. There is a nice plastic case for it, which is larger than I thought it would be. There is a lack of instruction in the manual, which is not helpful. On one side of the paper, there are troubleshooting instructions and on the other, there are specifications and operating instructions. The total number of lines in the operating instructions is about 3 or 4. Staples come in four different types, one with or without a folding edge, two designed to fix linear breaks, and one with an inside or The stainless steel sheets have two small holes punched out of them The mesh (six by eight inches) and the filler rods are made from steel mesh. There are two black and white ones, they are of different colors and dissimilar plastic. I am not sure of the kind of plastic they are, it's not listed anywhere, but There is only one pound of weight to the welder. The weight of the dog is 4 pounds and its height is 4 inches A twin US plug is on the end of the foot cord. I find the jacket, which is molded from plastic, to be crudely As a result of missing tongues and grooves where the two halves meet, the two halves gap on one side and mold flash is all over. An operating button is located on the side of the device, surrounded by plastic, and is not very convenient. In handling it, I have to either hold it with my forefinger or with my thumb and it is not ergonomically designed. There is quite a lot of it. Getting the tool end to angle the way I want is impossible because there's no good grip, push button, nor angle I can find. In my opinion, it would be more useful if there was a trigger to pull when gripping it. I thought the attachment tip of the attachment could be used for welding, but I was actually mistaken. In addition to being too big for the plastic shapes I tried it on, it does not suit attempting to melt and join pieces, nor does it work well The temperature can be difficult to control and is usually accomplished by periodically turning the tool on and off and guessing what temperature it is. Whenever I overshot the amount of heat, it was always a disaster. I have noticed that the tool cools off quickly after I let off the button, requiring more pressing of the button the moment I release it. Due to its thin metal tip, it heats and cools quickly as it has little mass. Since I used a solder iron torch, it was much easier to adjust the temperature by adjusting the flame. Since the tip had more thermal mass, it was much more effective. Using the smoothing tip also leads to the slot between the two sides getting packed with plastic while I am smoothing Smoothing is limited to a small area of the tip. A notable feature is the ability to weld staples with this tool. In order to secure the staple, turn the heating tool upside down and insert the ends of the staple. The heat up to melt temperature in approximately 2 seconds and are easy to press into As soon as you let off the power button, you should hold the staple for a few seconds to allow it to cool until you can remove it. It came in handy to melt a thin line of plastic by using the squiggle staple as a spot welder. In order to repair the broken wire, I needed to splice it together Let's get back to my test part. * I tested the tool on super thin plastic that was between 1/16" and 1/8" As a result of this, it was easy to overheat the staple and get it all the way through the part. Practice is the key to making sure you get the right temperature If you're using a staple, you'll want the plastic to be at least 3/16' to 12' thick, though they do work on thin material as well. All in all, this plastic welding set is a great value, and it has a place in my collection of plastic welding tools, it may not be perfect for everything, but for certain applications, it works well. By installing a metal staple into the plastic, you can obtain a great amount of structural reinforcement.

You Might Want to Read Why You'll Like This Version Without A Gun
5/5

Please click here. It may be a good choice for you to get a plastic welder like this Due to the fact that it is not a gun looking version, I prefer it. The gun version of it is easier for me to use since you can hold it in your hand in a variety of ways. A good selection of staples is bundled inside a plastic box with the Welder. Boxes made of plastic are a little bit cheaper than bags, but they are still better than regular In this kit, a hot knife, rods, and mesh are included for repairing damage. There are good hinges on this storage case, which are the ones with movable joints that won't snap after repeated An on/off button is on the top of the welder and is protected by a rubber membrane. It feels good in my large hands to use the welder. My favorite part of the welder is that it can be held like a pen when making repairs. I have included a few pictures of what it can do. I will explain what this tool can be used for to those who aren't familiar. Plastic materials prone to cracking can be strengthened / joined with this material. The repair is permanent and you want to place the staple on a side that will not be seen, so that the scar left behind will not show. If you choose to do so, you can cover the staple by melting and covering it. Imagine it as a staple used after surgery, but for plastic. This stays in the plastic after it's used.
