The temperature will stay the same, and there will be no heat loss. The more efficiently your pellet grill will run, the more you will love it
There is no way that it can Fibreglass is used for this. There is a chance that it may melt if enough metal lands on it, but it seems unlikely.
I don't know what a fire table is, but I use one under a wood burning stove in my tent to keep sparks from damaging the flooring, and the table works well for that purpose. This might be of some help.

The wool blanket was purchased as an alternative to the much more expensive smoker blankets to use as a thermal blanket for my Oklahoma Joe Heritage smoker. Whenever I fold it in half, I use a size of 4x6 that's perfect for this purpose, and I expect it'll last for a long time. My negative experience with this blanket has been that it sheds tiny fiberglass pieces, and I have to worry that none make their way into the chamber during cooking.
In the pictures you can see the heavy blankets I was looking for, and luckily, I got the light blanket I wanted.
You may want to check out this video. In my backyard, I have a smoker and It was important for me to find something that would protect my fence and be able to be removed. So I gave this a try and it worked great. In my backyard, I have a smoker/grill about a foot from my fence, so I can open the lid and have 4" between the lid and 280 degrees was reached by the blanket and the fence was only 85 degrees, the rest of the fence (in full sun) was at 100 degrees. This was with the grill side of the fence and the smoker side (pleasant), the blanket only reached 220 degrees. An infrared thermometer was used to measure the temperature. Purchasing two was a great deal, one for the flat top grill and one for the smoker or grill. My fence allows me to hang it from there, and I won't be able to use the eyelets, which look cheap and might break out. You could add fender washers to the eyebolt and use fender washers to hold it on.
The blankets were stitched together with tarps to reduce the possibility of fiberglass pieces getting into food or blown around in the wind. Since I am a small person and a renter, tarps will keep fiberglass shards from getting into the food. We ran clothesline across the roof overhang in a few places to protect the roof and outer walls. We draped blankets behind and above the grill to protect the roof and walls. In the event that the grill gets too hot, the tarps will melt, not catch fire. My landlord is satisfied and is using blankets that are rated up to 1000 F. The tarp is painted pretty to make it stand out.
Everything seems to be going well so far.
It is not a cover that I bought to keep my smoker warm, but as a welding blanket. Neither Montana nor Colorado will warm themselves without me bringing a blanket to cover the Big Green Egg. I've smoked brisket for Christmas in my Big Green Egg in both places! While I wouldn't want to weld directly on it, it was excellent for deflecting sparks and not catching the boat on fire. If you need this for a smoker, however, I advise you to do the necessary research and not spend money on what you wound.
The purchase of one of these should have been made To keep welding sparks out of my garage, I use it. It would have been useful during the welding process next to my lawn mower seat, and I could have prevented the hole I burned into.
This is a much better version! In addition, they are softer than others I have tried so they drape over objects and lower to the ground better, so slag and sparks don't roll up under them. So far I highly recommend these, even though I have only had them for a couple of weeks.
