Questions & Answers

A welding tip that fits over the soldering tip supplied with Portasol 75 appears to be available. If you could pick one or more, which one would it be?

On the picture of the welding kit, you can see a hot air nozzle attachment without the deflector, which appears to be what the attachment is for. With the air nozzle that came with my kit, tip PPT-W, I experimented with the filling. I followed step 13 on the instruction sheet and it worked fine. I bought some plastic rod at Harbor Freight and got to work, it seemed to work fine. The melting temperature can be found by finding the melt point. Trial and error is the only way to determine if a plastic rod will work.

It would be nice if the soldering iron tip came with a microscopic hex key so I could tighten the microscopic hex screw for better attachment to ?

It never occurred to me to question that since I am a retired toolmaker. Among the hex keys I have in my toolbox are values ranging It is smaller than the one used for this application, which is 028". I am, by the way, talking about It is hex key 0394") I hope you have a wonderful . Kenia

As I reviewed the reviews and answered the questions, I was intrigued. Sadly, it does not come with the hex key needed for tightening the set screw, so people complain about that. It wasn't that big of a deal to me, but I thought i'd let others who are interested in this know that it now comes with a hex tool to tighten it This was the first time the manufacturer changed, so I was pleasantly surprised. Their listen to the needs of their customers and have made this change, which is terrific. This means that people who were worried about not being able to tighten this should no longer be concerned. These are a few of the photos from today's delivery.

You may find this tip useful, but be aware that it may not work on the SuperPro Hence, it will only fit the Pro Piezo 75 watt model, the one that comes with the welding kit for plastic. If you take a look at the page, you will see the following under "Frequently Bought Together" These items are frequently bought together •Portasol WT One weld tip for the Plastic Welding Kit and Portasol 010589330 Super Pro 125-volt The Watt Heat Tool Kit is priced at I paid 93$. If you already have the 75 watts model or the plastic welding kit but just wish to add another tip or purchase the Superpro, you get a great deal on that. Since I assumed that since the tips were advertised as a pair, they would fit the Superpro 125, I made a silly assumption. I'm sorry to disappoint you, shopper, but it does not As a result, unless you already own a 75 watt heat tool, you are left with a welding tip that you cannot Standing in front of the computer looks cool (although it does look good standing up)
So that leaves you with a few Both should be returned and you should start over. Change from a 125 watt kit to a 75 watt kit. The tip should be returned and the welding idea should be abandoned I guess I am going with option 4 anyway after thinking about it for a while. I use my Master Appliance butane soldering iron with this

In the hope that it might fit either the soldering tip on my old Portasol soldering iron or one of the tips on my Master Appliance butane soldering iron, I ordered this. As a result, it fits the mini Using the torch tip on my soldering iron from Master Appliance. Now that I have this, plastic soldering should become a lot easier for me.

I like how it works

It works great, but it would be nice if it included directions on how to use it and be able to connect to your portasol soldering iron. With its help, I was able to fix a crack in my Chrysler 300's plastic radiator tank when I attached it to my hot air tip.
