This thread insert set is of the highest quality
5/5

The Time-Sert does not come cheap compared to other solutions. This may not be the perfect solution, but it is imperative if you want the job done correctly. I had to repair the threads on an aluminum motor transversely mounted for an oil pressure sending unit that had been stripped. It certainly was not my intention to have to take the engine out of the car for this endeavor. The same time, I was fully aware that I was going to have only one chance at doing the job, and if it went wrong the motor was basically lost. In light of that, I didn't want to use shortcuts or dubious tools even though the repairs were simple. As work was being done from above, with the engine still in place, there was limited visibility, so the greatest risk was how to ensure the drill and tap were going into the hole straight. It was decided to screw an insert tool into the damaged hole, then add a socket and rivets to finish off the job As a result, I could visualize how a straight line to the hole looked, after which I could make marks that would allow me to line up the drill on the same lines. A timely assortment of information and advice was available in Time-Sert's help line each time I needed it. There are kits that come with drill bits that have squares on the end that can be used with a tap handle or 12 point socket. Other kits come with drill bits that are round on the end. There are some downsides, however I. 1. Among the items in the kit is a counter This tool is intended to catch sinking water. Even though this tool cuts slower than the drill bit, and even though it has a shoulder to stop it when it has gone far enough down, without a clear view of the shoulder, it is hard to tell when it is almost done. Therefore, even after doing what seems to be a lot of countersink cutting, you might not be all the way in. It is difficult to tell what is included in the kits from Amazon's listing. Three different depths of inserts are available from Time-Sert, but it's not stated in the listing which you should order. The drill bits may have or may not have the squared end for the handle of the tap. Please examine the pictures carefully to ensure that you are getting what you ordered. If you want Time-Sert to help you find the right kit on Amazon, you should probably contact them first with your exact requirements.

If you're looking for a quality thread repair kit with a permanent adhesive, then please purchase this excellent option from Mechanics Tools & Bits
5/5

The free shipping option was selected, and it was expected to arrive within In fact, it arrived in just two days, and I was very pleased. I wish to thank Mechanics Tools & Equipment for providing these parts It's shipping USPS 2 so you'll have to do this Today is Monday. It was very good that we were here to sign the confirmation, as the mailman needs a signed confirmation. Now that the threaded hole of the reverse light switch has been fixed permanently on an aluminum Saturn manual transmission, I'm able to do a quality repair. Helicoils have been used by me as a mechanic for several years, but I have never had faith in their They are also available on Amazon. There are several depth sizes of time-sert inserts available. There are six of them in my order. A thread stripper should be treated as a stripped thread, and insert a 6-mm deep insert at the same time. This is how you do a first-time, permanent thread repair. In case of a second repair due to a failed Helicoil, the BIG-X will be necessary Put SERT in its place. It's a great product and I am happy with it. I'm sure my customers A RECENT UPDATE It was a success to repair the car. Hopefully, there are some tips I can share to save you some time or to stop you from getting frustrated. You may wish to grease the end and channels of the drill bit, the counterboring bit, and the cutting tap with red bearing grease if you are concerned about metal shavings. When the red grease is in contact with metal shavings, it is more visible. The following questions have been raised With the help of red bearing grease, we cleaned up the shaving- embedded grease with wipes. To use the drill bit and counterboring bit in this kit, you need a 1/2" or larger chuck drill. My 3/8" drive 11mm 12-hole tap driver was too small for the cutting tap, so I used a 3/8" drive 11mm 12-hole tap driver An 8-point socket with a 3/8" drive extension and a short breaker bar enables the cutting tap to be run In a 12-month period With a 3/8" combination wrench, I ran Insert Installation Driver as directed, with no issues. Since my repair required a flush finish on one edge of the carbon steel insert, it ended up protruding ever so slightly due to both my drilling and tapping being slightly amiss. I dealt with it by flattening the surface of the case with a Dremel tool and a grinding stone. You have a good life ahead of.

The quality is excellent
5/5

Despite the kit's low cost, it's of good quality. The kit came with some longer inserts, which I have paired with this kit. There is no problem with the kit at all. In addition to the drill bit, there is a counter hole cutter, a set tool, and a Using a set tool, moisten the area where the insert meets the set tool, then screw it in by hand until it is flush with the surface of the insert. Once the hole has been drilled, countered, and tapped, add some oil to the set tool. Once you have locked the insert, run the insert set tool all the way into the hole, this will expand the insert, and keep it locked, so that your bolt does This is a good product.

I'm impressed beyond words! The difference between life and death! I am blown away! I am blown away! This part is perfect for getting my 3rd gen TLS Brembo caliper bolt back into place
5/5

Quite simply, the kit is excellent and a lifesaver. While it does cost a bit, you can rest assured that the engineering that went into this kit is superior to any other. It came two days earlier than expected, everything was packaged in an excellent manner, and new instructions were clearly stated. There is nothing I can complain about. Thanks for your kind words!.

Those who are life savers
5/5

Saving lives with these devices was vital. Somehow, I overtorqued the drain plug on my oil drain pan, and the threads were stripped. Rather than having to replace my vehicle's entire oil sump, which isn't cheap, I was able to just replace the filter. Getting the old plug off was the hardest part, so patience and luck were required. I was able to drill a new hole and use these inserts that still match the size and pitch of my original drain plug. Replacing the drain plug is a good idea. Utilize threadlock sealant on the inserts and flush (multiple times) any metal shavings out as best as possible with inexpensive motor oil that you aren't concerned about.

It's a lifesaver
5/5

Definitely a must-have in your toolbox. Minimizes accidents and saves lives. Please make sure that you get half of what you paid for The drill bit needs to be in a 1-inch chuck. I did not like how long these inserts were It would have been easier for me had I ordered the shallower inserts available in the alternative kit available on Amazon. The fault lies with me, however. I was impressed with how easy it was to use this kit. On a motorcycle, I had to drill into the engine casing to replace a stripped oil drain bolt, but it went in fine and the oil has not leaked.
