Fixed. It comes with everything you'll need to complete the task. The instructions are simple to follow, and the job was completed quickly; the only extra tools required are a drill, penetrating oil, and a tap holder. I was repairing the caliper slide pins on the drivers side of a 2003 VW Beetle that we had purchased used, and the threads were stripped, and the previous owner had used TWO doorman help over-sized pins that were barely holding the car together. So, with this kid, I used some penetration oil to drill out both stripped mounting brackets on the knuckle, then used the tap, which was a tight working quarters, so I used a screw bit driver, then attached a 6mm 1/4 socket to the bit driver, then attached the tap to the 1/4 end. I should have taken a picture, but everything turned out fine. Use the tools included in the kit to install the new threads after running the tap twice. Everything was snug as a bug in a rug. If you're having the same problems as me, this set is a must-have.
I was replacing brake calipers on my 1992 Dodge Dakota when I noticed the caliper bolt holes were completely stripped. I did some research and it appears that many Dodge trucks from the 1980s to the early 2000s had this problem. I needed this in a specific size. It took me about 30 minutes to install my calipers once they arrived. This is an excellent product that includes everything you require.
The caliper slide pins on my MK4 Jetta TDI were a perfect match for this. It was past due, with just over 250k miles on the clock and six years since the last brake job. Unfortunately, the bolt threads on both calipers were completely stripped. With a little patience, however, this helicoil kit proved to be an excellent tool for the job. Simply go slowly and make sure you're drilling and rethreading in a straight line.
My 2003 Ford Focus' steering knuckle threads were repaired using this method. The driil and tap are of high quality. I'd tell my friends about it. br>br>I only gave one star for stretch because I have no idea what it means or how it applies to the product, and Amazon's reviews are so stupid.
These were required for the main bolts on a Honda CBR1000RR. 9mm isn't a common thread size, and it wasn't included in a metric thread set I had previously purchased. Although this is a low-cost set, it served me well.
My car was having a common issue; After watching a video on how to fix the problem, I ordered this product. br>It was simple to install, and I haven't had a problem since.
The front brake caliper pin thread in the cast hub of a 2012 VW Jetta mk6 was wasted. Drilled it, tapped it, inserted the insert, and there you have it. Returning to the open road It's my first time using a heli coil, and I'm finding it to be fairly easy.
I'm not a casual tool user; I'm a professional mechanic who knows how to use taps and cutting oil. The drill bit broke right away, so I got a new one from the local store; then the tap broke off inside the hole about halfway through, which took some effort to extract; I'm not a casual tool user; I'm a professional mechanic who knows how to use taps and cutting oil. Save your money and don't buy this piece of junk.
