Can you tell me how long the insert is?

My name is Paul and I just Those at 11 coarse came with inserts measuring approximately 3/4 inch in length. The hole needed to be drilled out and new threads tapped in. I had to purchase a drill bit size 21/32 to do this. In the kit, there was a tap. As it turned out, I did not have to spend $150 on a new mower spindle because I could fix it. In this case, 3/4" is the correct answer

This appears to have a OD of 5/8 but not an ID? Is the inside of the box large enough to fit a 5/8" ?

In order to create 5/8 thread, you must use tools from the kit only. If instructions are needed, they should be found online or included.

To use the 5/8"-inch drill, what size should it be Do you have to clean up a stripped tread before inserting the 18 kit or does it clean up an existing tread before inserting ?

To begin with, you need to use a 41/64 drill bit to drill it out. The heilea coil is then threaded to match the original bolt threads, and then the coil is tapped. A mercruiser Bravo 3 drive gimbal ring was used to mount this. It is important to drill very straight when using caution

If they are used with aluminum, are they safe or will they damage ?

Aluminum can be used with them without any problems

My solution worked very well for what I needed

I used Helicoil to make a new hole for threaded insert. The factory never threaded the guard support on my table saw even though it had a hole there. After ensuring the hole is correctly drilled and the tap is correctly cut, use the 41/64" drill bit to make sure the new threads are cut. It was very challenging to get the insert started without the installation tool because the insert wanted to pop out and I would have been forced to use the tool to get it started. If I were to purchase another size in the future, I would definitely consider this vendor.

This saved me a lot of money, but please make sure to get the 41/64th drill bit that goes with it as well! The bellhousing on my Mercruiser Alpha I Gen 2 was stripped of its threads, so I repaired them with this

Except for the 41/64th drill bit, the kit included everything I needed to complete the job. I could have easily saved 500 dollars This kit would have saved me the 700 dollars a replacement housing would have cost. I would definitely use it again in the future.
