The ideal CV Joint Banding Tool for quickly tensioning and securing the boot banding strap around the CV joint.

The CV joint boot clamp wrench is made of high-quality steel and aids in the easy installation of the CV joint boot.

Clamp the free end of the 3/8" or 1/4" strap reel around the boot; thread strap through clevis head and reel mandrel slot; place 1/2" ratchet on reel; bend back of strap on boot and clip on to apply tension and cut off; fold remaining strap end into clip and tap down on clip ears to secure; double wrap for added strength

This CV boot crimps the clamp lugs to greatly reduce leakage and is equipped with a "straight" crimping clamp at the end.

The cutter has a backwards handle

To use the tool properly, you must run the clamp end under the cutter, which leaves the handle pointing forward and prevents you from tightening the band - I had to drill out the rivet holding the cutter handle because to use the tool properly, you must run the clamp end under the cutter, which leaves the handle pointing forward and prevents you from tightening the band - Very frustrating, I removed the cutter handle and correctly positioned the rotating blade, then tightened the band, reinserted the handle, and rotated for a nice cut - The tool is functional, but it requires some tweaking - For the price, it's most likely still a good deal.

I used these to tighten some stainless steel straps in an exhaust header, and they worked perfectly

It tightened up nicely and cut through those stainless ties with ease. You'll be all set if you look up some videos on how to use it correctly. This is ideal for a hobbyist with reasonable longevity expectations. If you're going to use it every day, go for something more expensive, but if you only need it for a few projects, this will suffice.

This pliers set clamps firmly, and I mean firmly! My finger became entangled in the bandage. I've taken on the appearance of my previous shop teacher. I'm only able to count up to nine at this point. It is fantastic at what it does.
