Questions & Answers
Only camber and caster will be measured with the 78290. To measure "toe," either the 79622 or 79620 toe sticks or the 79501 or 79505 toe plates will suffice. Other tools can be used, but these are the most common ones for checking "toe."
Yes, the 78290's digital level is powered by a battery.
It does not, in fact. When checking camber and caster, it's best to use turn plates 78900 to accurately measure the degree of turn and avoid "scrubbing," which can skew your results.

I wish it had a screen on top or could be used in the same way as the bubble gauge; otherwise, you have to be down in front of the gauge to read it.
If you do your own alignments, this tool is well worth the extra money. This was purchased as a supplement to a DIY alignment kit that I had previously purchased. It was well worth the money, as it was extremely accurate and simple to operate.
This is a beautiful piece with digital accuracy for consistent, repeatable measurements. It was held firmly to the caster/camber wheel adapters I used by a super strong magnet. The case is useful for storing items safely.
It's dead on. I'm really happy with this gauge; it's high-quality and versatile. By a long shot, the actual product is far superior to the description.
Having to work around the lack of turntables is a pain, but it does make realigning after dropping a subframe a lot easier. And it's the only way to go if your car doesn't allow you to adjust the camber and caster.
Instead of paying a garage to replace worn rubber bushings, I was able to save at least two trips to an alignment station and hours of wasted time and money by replacing them myself at home. Without a gauge, there is a sag in the rubber that prevents proper alignment.
It's fantastic; I love it, and it's a great price. It's also very simple to use.
