Not 100%. I've been building LS engines for years and have always wanted to try a metal set like this. I have the plastic ones, which are beginning to show signs of wear. When putting the seals in, these are much nicer. I like the metal because it is sturdy. However, the oil pan jig only works on the front of the engine; a rear-mounted version is required.
I would have preferred to see any kind of instructions, but a quick YouTube search will give you an idea of how to use it. So far, everything has worked out perfectly.
The first one I ordered was damaged when it arrived. The seal tool you used looked as if it had fallen to the floor. I asked for another, but it was also damaged when it arrived. I didn't bother returning this one because I needed to finish the job I was working on. It's more than likely chinese aluminum that's being used. People, buy American!.
On my 5, it worked perfectly. Installing the front and back covers with 3 LM4 was a breeze.
With the same tool, I was able to perfectly align the timing cover and install the front crank seal.
The front cover alignment on an LS was a breeze thanks to this. Simply remove the seals and replace them with these alignment tools, and the front and back covers will be perfectly aligned.
The timing cover was perfectly aligned as a result of this. I'd suggest it.
