PURPOSE -- Assists in the alignment of the front and rear engine covers, ensuring proper seal function and longevity. The seals must be perfectly concentric to the front diameter of the balancer hub sealing surface in order to function properly.

BENEFITS INCLUDE: 1. The Cover Alignment Tool works in the same way as a balancer to center the cover on the front seal OR locates the seal bore ID in the cover without the seal installed. While the Oil Pan Alignment Tool imitates the oil pan, it ensures that the oil pan and front cover are properly aligned.

The quality is poor

One of the holes was not completely punched through due to poor quality control by the manufacturer. My father has the necessary tools, but he had hoped for a higher quality tool for the price. We live in Alaska, so asking for/waiting for a replacement isn't worth the trouble. This is the last time I'll buy from this company.

Overall, it works great on Chevy and GM Ls engines. My only suggestion is that the designer put it in a carry case so you don't lose the bolts and other parts of the tool. Overall, the tool does what it's supposed to do.
