As soon as I saw this tool, I was excited. Whenever I could do my own work on my vehicle I did so, so when it was time to replace my spark plugs, I knew that I would need the right tool to avoid dropping one. This is a very good tool, and I am very happy to have it. To check its magnetism, I put a spark plug in it, and it was very strong, you could feel it grasping the plug strongly. When I swung the tool around and jostled it a little bit, the plug remained in the tool without moving at all. Having changed my spark plugs myself with this tool, I would recommend it to anyone who wants some piece of mind that they can do this work on their own. Despite all the obstacles, I was able to make it work.
I've gone through 5 or 6 of them with the rubber gasket on the inside. Once I had a natural epiphany that a magnetic socket was the best option for me. I just checked on Amazon and there are indeed these things. As of now, I have used this product a few times and it has been everything I was hoping for. There is enough force in the magnet to pull a spark plug out of any length guide tube, and it is strong enough that you will not have to be careful not to drop it. A ratcheting wrench would work well with this 3/8" extension, along with a socket extension of 8" to 12", which is ideal for removing plugs in nearly every This purchase was a great decision for me. Perfect for gearheads! Stock up on these stocking stuffers for your friends and family. I have a hint for you!.
A strong and refined feel is provided by the hard chrome finish. A heavy socket feels like it should support a great deal of weight. Markings are clean and clearly I found the spark plugs to be exactly what I needed. The magnetic socket has proven to be far more effective than my old "rubber" When I installed the plugs, the rubber-style socket would pop off the wrench and get stuck. I greased the rubber bushing, but it didn't work. The plug tubes on my new engine are quite long, and there is no way I can fish out a stuck socket, unlike my previous vehicles which I could manipulate with a needle nose plier. There is a solution to all of your problems with this product. There was no hitch in the process. Having now come to rely on this spark plug socket, it has become my go-to. It is never again going to be rubber bushing style for me. *For those who care, I can tell you that sockets are.
As I was removing the old spark plugs I broke two plugs. I tried to use this socket again but it would not break them. It wasn't a great loss, but I broke it later on when I was installing the new one. When I examined the magnet in the socket, I noticed where it was placed. The location of this is not great, as it is at the top of the socket. Alternatively, there are sockets that have the magnet on the mid section, preventing expensive plugs from being damaged.
Especially if you own a Tacoma, this magnetic socket will save you a lot of money. connectors in the Tacoma are embedded into a hole which requires a magnetic connector to put them back in. If you just use a regular socket to take them out, you'd better get a magnetic one to put them When you use a common socket to insert them back into the vehicle, you have a problem getting the socket to separate from the spark plug, which makes things more complicated. When you use a magnetic socket, you don't run into this problem. It was an excellent tool and I received it promptly.
I considered this my backup or my hail Mary, as some might say. Originally, I bought this socket from Harbor Freight, but it was not suitable for the job and made of cheap materials. The other brand did not have the ability to do what this one did. Installing the spark plugs was a breeze thanks to the simple procedure.
Amazon re-sent the item after the first delivery was missing a br>The second delivery was successful after the item had been received. There is no need to worry about Amazon. I appreciate Amazon very much! Whether you are a Saturday mechanic or an auto repair shop, this OEMTOOLS 22887 5/8 Inch Magnetic Spark Plug Socket is a must have. There is a magnetic hold on the plug so it keeps it in place! It is impossible to hold the spark plug in other sockets, with the result that the spark plug might drop and get damaged! Do yourself a favor and pick one up! You won't be disappointed!.
The order was made in a bind because I was in dire need of a magnetic socket. A magnetic socket is not available for my old socket. It would have been better for me to read the negative reviews Some are calling this spark plug a standard plug, but it does not fit it. On the left you can see my old socket and on the right the one I took. Not very happy with this. It should be noted in the socket's description that it is a shorter socket. Upon interior inspection, it is smaller than what it appears on the outside. Hoping to get a refund or return, but I have already torn open the container. EDIT
There was no question asked about the refund, and all I had to do was The good customer service I received from Amazon makes up for the fact that this socket still has a low value to me,.
