Questions & Answers

Is there a limit to how thin the metal needs to be? A 22 ga sheet of metal and a sheet of 12 ga aluminum are next to each other. What are the chances that these will In addition, what is the diameter of the Does (dia) exist?

As a general rule, to determine the length of grip that is required, measure the thickness of the pieces of metal to be fitted together, The diameter of the rivet is five times bigger than the rivet itself. You may need to round up if you want a good The two pieces of metal are one is and one is. There are two numbers in 032. This thick metal has a thickness of 010. If you want to use 1/8 inch dia rivets, then 1/8 inch dia rivets will do. It is five times one eighth So that's it. The following is an adjusted version. The number 188 is equal to. A rivet with a grip range of at least is what you need. On the internet, you can see all of this. Probably a chart on how to convert gauge numbers to decimals as well.

In which case is the diameter larger than the length? does eq with parenthesis (4- 8 mean How does 4) relate to the previous question?

1/8" is the diameter of the rivet, so the first four are referred to as the diameter. This grip range of up to 1/4" makes up the second 4 on the table.

Does a backup washer need to be installed?

To answer this question, it would be nice to know what you are riveted to. In one case, I had to drill out the rivet I messed up to remove it. I used them to rivet 22g sheet steel to 1/8" angle.

The non-profit sector Despite corroding rivets, the price is very reasonable
5/5

In order to make some under-cabinet rivets, I ordered these During my 15-year-old car's automotive restoration, I cleaned the engine, the fuel tank, and the brakes A vehicle that is more than a year old. outdoor exposure, but I needed the extra corrosion resistance due to the environment in which the rivets would be used It is a harsh winter here in OH, near Cleveland, with very harsh conditions as well as massive use of salt by workers on the road). It was my pleasure to work on and complete this vehicle recently. In addition, I checked the big box stores in my area for pricing I would prefer to order from a hardware supplier before A stainless rivet was not present in the store's blue section. There were a few of these at the Orange store, but they were prohibitively expensive, at $10. The number of each is 76. A few weeks ago, I spent about $ on Amazon. There is a price of 10 each for these There is a substantial difference between the prices! I had only one problem with these blind rivets since it was very difficult to complete the pulling of the rivets and snap the shaft (and they were only 1/8" long). Possibly I'm just getting used to aluminum (or maybe I just need to get a bit stronger after using stainless 304 for so long). It is anyhow clear that these rivets did good for me, and we are optimistic that the corrosion under the vehicle where they are installed will end. My order arrived promptly without the use of Prime, even if I do not have the service. I would use this route again if necessary.

The chunky texture
5/5

It turned out that these rivets were a little larger than I needed because they connect snaps together however, they also appear to be exceptionally well made. I was surprised at how thick they are, and they feel very solid to hold. If I come across the project that requires them, I am confident that they will provide excellent holding power. I am using as small a tool as I would consider for this size rivet to pop these rivets, and the tool I am using is about as big as I would consider for them. To pop these rivets, you really have to work at it. There are six rivets per row In addition to the 4, I also bought the 6 During the same time period, Rivet Gallery has two works on display. These should appear to be more substantial than they are. This will reduce the number of false pops by making the pull a little thicker. If I have used more of them, I will update.

Rivets that are made from stainless steel look nice
5/5

This tool was used to repair rockers on a jeep. There was some difficulty to pop them with the tool I had, but it worked fine. The rockers seem to hold up well for the next couple of years. For steel, do not use aluminum rivets and for aluminum rivets, do the opposite.

Aluminum rivets are much stronger than the typical aluminum rivets
5/5

Make sure the rivet you use is the larger one that permits both arms to be used to pull the rivet. If you are setting these rivets manually, make sure you get a larger tool. In other words, if you use the smaller hand riveter, your forearms will end up looking like Popeye's (not a bad thing for a guy) and your flimsy riveter will eventually snap. This larger, rather than smaller, stainless steel pop rivet was made for aluminum pop rivets, not these larger, stronger The engineering data reveals that these rivets have a shear strength of 950 pounds, which is more than twice as strong an aluminum pop rivet of the same size. If you require that extra strength, you should.

There are some quite hard ones
5/5

I know this is user error, but I tried them on a non-compliant device A heavy-weight The job done with the blind riveter caused me to be unable to easily catch the remaining rivet after pressing the rivet gun. It took quite a bit of effort to actually get the rivet gun to depress all the way, but I just used pliers to fix it and it seems to work okay. The right tool for the right job will save you time and money,.

The going gets tough
5/5

I had used them to repair a window. The requirement is for buildings with high roofs. It took a pneumatic riverter to get them in because they are very tough. It is not necessary to worry if they will break or corrode. I love your work.

This is a high quality product
5/5

My experience with these is that I have gone through about 60 of them so far without any issues. Each and every one of them has done their job. You will have to exert yourself if you plan on riveting these with a larger hand riveter. You will notice it after the first 10 or so that it requires a lot of strength to set them up.

I like how the rivet is finished
5/5

I really like the way these rivets look and work. On a motorcycle, I used these for attaching the backing plate to the air intake (the metal was 1/4" thick overall). In order to work in a small space, I used a pneumatic riveter. Despite the uneven clamping on the rivet ball, it was straight and uniform.
