Product Description

Kent Moore J-44639 on the Internet - OTC injector puller for GM Duramax engines

This product is designed for use with 2001-2004 model year GM Duramax 6 engines. An engine with a 6L displacement

This minimizes the risk of destroying the cups or injectors while removing the injectors from the cylinder heads

Insert the tool into the bolt hole of the injector retainer bracket, connect a socket and ratchet/breaker bar to one of the hex ends, and start rocking the tool back and forth. The injector will pop out relatively easily.

Tool will endure heavy shop use and will continue to perform as intended because of its durable steel construction

Do you think this tool will work for a Lbz ?

It is designed to fit the internally mounted LB7 injector with a larger hold down opening, which is why I found the OTC6779 Injector Puller on Amazon to replace the GM Special Tool J-33 on Amazon. The 46594 is for injection systems with the smaller hold downs for externally mounted LLY, LBZ, and LMM injectors.

Do you know if this works for 08 LMM?

Duramax engines are older, so I probably won't be able to use one

I installed it on my 2003 LB7 Chevrolet silverado and it is working great

However, injector replacement isn't an easy task on these models. This particular tool worked with my 2003 Chevrolet silverado LB7 very well. Since injector replacement is not the easiest process on these models, it was helpful to have access to a tool to make removing the injectors a breeze once you had them out. Taking my experience into consideration, here are a few tips Once you have the injector puller on (and you're not going to change the injector cups), use quick and light pulls (almost like you're rocking it) to remove the injector instead of one.

It was bigger than I had anticipated

He requested that I buy this tool for him since he is a diesel technician. My wifely duties were done, so I did as I would have done if I could. My impression was that the TWSS (when it arrived) would be considerably larger than what I received. With the price being what it is. . I was quite impressed, but since this thing fell out, I was somewhat disappointed. I'm not a woman, so I cannot reflect on what my husband thinks of this tool, but I know it does the job fast and easily and leaves him feeling quite content.

Despite the fact you can do it without but this makes the job a lot easier and prevents your expensive injectors from getting damaged.
