The front hub/bearing on a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 is pulling out. the axle has been removed, the axle will slide out easily by hand. It worked well on one side, the other side didn't work so well. My bearing separated, and I had to find a different way to fix it.
My 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins diesel ran beautifully after installing the kit. The bearings were stuck so well that I actually had to separate them due to the heat and beat I did before. Thus, you can be sure it will indeed pull HARD exactly where it should.

This product is supposed to come with a threaded pulling rod, as it shows in the pictures, as well as in the customer reviews. Because I assumed that both pieces would come with it, I paid substantially more for this puller. When I opened the box, a base plate was all that was inside. I cannot get anyone to acknowledge the fact that this is wrong or answer my complaint. Purchases from this vendor will never be made It is not a good idea to.
In spite of the high cost of this tool, I hope I will only use it As far as I'm concerned, it was worth the effort. Using the puller, I bolted the wheel studs to the wheel hub and started cranking on the bolt. I managed to split the wheel hub in half, leaving part of it It really does work! The rusted in place hub had to be removed using a chisel, 3 lb hammer, and heavy duty screwdriver in two hours. Taking my time to do the other side, I beat on the hub with a three pound sledge, turning the bolt a half turn, and then beating it another time. There was a pop. I not only improved my technique, but the other side of the machine was just as rusted. Buying this puller is money well spent, and if you have friends with 3/4 ton, 4x4 trucks, they'll thank you by loaning you a case of beer when you take it back.
I purchased this puller as a replacement for the hub that was on my 2003 Dodge Ram four-wheel drive A wheel-shaped vehicle I have no trouble driving the front assembly. This job was performed with the aid of a Milwaukee electric impact driver. Don't forget to grease the thread so you don't lead the steel to gall.
You can't just press out the axle shaft as you will damage the joints and the boots -- if there was some sort of clamp to hold the axle in place you would have it.
Having previously replaced and fought the front unit bearings on a Dodge 2500, this tool made the job much easier and was a worthwhile Voici a tip A week prior to tearing the assemblies down, spray both assemblies thoroughly with penetrating oil (PB Blaster) Once the splines have been installed, they should be cleaned and anti-rust coated You've been stolen.
This tool has been used to push on a CV shaft on the front axle to gain access to wheel hub bolts on a 4X4 Chevrolet pickup. I couldn't find an alternative tool to work on the hub. Although it was overkill for the job, it was the only thing that worked in the situation. LB has proven to be a powerful tool at Elemen.
I have used it on the front wheel bearings of 3/4 and 1 ton Dodge rams multiple times. The tool is well built and heavy duty. I believe it is worth the price.
