A stainless steel ship's wheel had become stuck on the steering shaft. I bought this to remove it. A 3-year warranty is something to consider when buying a I was not sure which size I should be using for our task at first, since I was not sure how much space to leave. Nonetheless, my estimate that I needed the 3" was incorrect, since I had already used the 4", so I should have used the 3" It was very handy having this pack around. Unlike many others, these pullers come fully assembled like some other pullers. As the jaws are loosely bolted together, you will be able to adjust the length of the jaws to suit your needs. After doing that twice, I ended up doing it three times. It is a good idea to leave the bolts a bit loose to be able to operate the unit. I found the unit to be very effective. We were able to pop the wheel off fairly In order to do the job, the tool had to be placed in a fiddly spot. Way easier to cinch it up if you have someone else nearby to lend a hand. I think it depends on what the task at hand is.
This driver tip is strong enough to dimple and center over the head of a Grade 5 bolt. It has happened to me many times that the pullers were inferior Typically, they come individually packaged in plastic bags tailored to the puller size. As I added the bags to the tool chest, I ended up using them as bags.
The pullers arrive assembled and the bolts are finger-sized. Everything is in place and ready to go.
Although the set appears to be of good quality, the strength of the set will have to be seen after they are all utilized. The only complaint I have is that the nuts were missing from the pullers when they arrived, so some assembly was necessary.
The bearings can be easily removed with this tool.
It was very adjustable over a wide range, and I had no problem using it to accomplish all the tasks I needed. I have never used a puller before so I don't have anything to compare it with, but I can't imagine a more expensive model being much more effective.
