Yes, if the male and female connectors do not make contact, so make sure the plug pins are properly inserted to allow them to make contact.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.br>Dear Customer,br>Thank you for taking the time to read this. br>BougeRV solar connector works with wire/connector sizes 14, 12, and 10 awg. 6awg wire is too thick to crimp into a BougeRV solar connector, and it may cause one side of the connector to fail if the current exceeds 40 amps. br>We recommend selecting a solar cable and connector based on the current generated by your PV system. br>If you have any questions, please contact us directly or via [email protected]. com if you have any questions about our product.br>If you need technical support, please provide us with the following information:br>1) Number, connection type(series or parallel), and parameter(power and voltage) of solar panelsbr>2) Capacity, type(SLD, AGM, GEL, LiFePO4, etc.) of your batterybr>br>Also, providing us with the user manual of these devices will be much more helpful for us to make solutions br>With best wishes, br>BougeRV Service Team
I just went to the HQST website to see if they could clarify your question. These BougeRV MC4 Solar Panel Cable Connectors appear to be compatible with HQST MC4 Connectors, whether they are mounted on the panel or not. br>I can tell you that with the right crimp tool and Connector Wrench/Separator, they're simple to use and hold up well in the Appalachian environment of Virginia. There are no instructions included with them. If you've ever built a Ford or GM Weathertight Connector, you should be fine, though you might waste a contact or two learning.

I had some 10awg wire to run from panels on the roof down into the garage, and these worked perfectly. We've had heavy rains, hail, and other severe weather over the last month, but no problems or shorts as a result of the water. I bought the MC4 wrenches as well, but I never used them. Regular pliers and other tools will suffice if you want to save $5. br>br>The only blemish is that they are a little stiff; they don't click together and come undone without a little force (I assume due to the weatherproof gaskets, but it could be a design/manufacturing issue). It simply takes a little more effort than you might think.
Edit: I'm giving this a five-star rating for customer service because I was given a set of tools to fit the connectors. I judged quality based on the unusual size, but it turns out that they sell two sizes of MC4 connectors. These will suffice for my purposes, but I'd look elsewhere if I needed something more permanent. I bought the Renogy MC4 tools, but the end caps are too small for the wrenches. To secure them, I used channel locks.
This is a fantastic piece of equipment. The tools are a nice touch, and the parts are of excellent quality. I'm making an extension cable from a solar panel to the back of a house with these. constructed a solar power system I had to make a few extension cords to connect the panel to the generator because the cables coming out of the panel are only about 18 inches long.
They do connect to Renogy MC4, but I had to cut a small piece of extra plastic off the BougeRV connector tabs to make it work. This is an issue that I believe their quality control could address. Otherwise, I'll stick with my 400W rooftop array and see how the connectors hold up.
I ordered these because I messed up some connectors (my fault) by using the incorrect ones (small vs large insert connectors). Slow down and double-check that you're using the right insert connectors to avoid making the same mistakes I did. Don't waste those connectors by being a hasty beaver.
I've used these several times to make custom-length cables and save a lot of money over pre-made cables. As long as you have the crimping tool, they are extremely simple to use.
These are designed to work properly. They are sturdy and durable, and easy to use to assemble your own cables (I wired one backwards, but that was my fault). Anderson Powerpole adapter cables were made with some of them.
I'm a novice when it comes to solar energy. To charge a Jackery and a Bluetti storage unit, I needed to run wire from two solar panels into the utility room. The solar connectors were simple to install (with the help of a crimping tool), and the tools that came with them worked well. This was a good buy. I'm going to buy more.
