If you have a high tonnage jack stand, it will be more stable and, in many cases, provide a greater lifting capacity. Additionally, you need to know the minimum lift height your vehicles will need, but this relates to the jack not the stand. Any decent jack will lift high enough for a 3 ton stand, unless it's an odd spot on a raised vehicle (SUV or truck). If you have a regular sized car or small crossover, you should go for a 3 ton. It should be remembered that the 3 ton capacity is based on a pair of stands, not a single
The stands I used on my C4 Corvette let me do just that throughout this Winter. I would not be anxious no matter what year it is, even a new one. In my car collection, I take good care of every vehicle.

During the Christmas season, I obtained a 65 Ford Mustang and had to put it on jack stands while I was working My goal was to find something solid enough that I would be able to trust would not fall down. I bought four of these and they are each 2 tons. A hydraulic jack was used to lift it up and I placed one under each wheel area, then I lowered it again. I was amazed at how sturdy it was! In fact, the Mustang weighs considerably less than 8 tons, but by supporting a total of 2 tons, these can carry the entire weight of the The only concern I have is that it will not fall on me as I creep under it on my creeper. It is not safe for me to work on vehicles that are jacked up unless they are supported with jack stands, such as these. The things I've listed here do more than I need them to do. The device features a heavy duty steel construction and is easy to operate.
Buying is not a good idea. One of the jacks broke under my car when I was working on it.
A smaller pair of jack stands would be useful for the Prius and the My Jeep and Suburban come with some good 6 ton ones in Orange. Nonetheless, I tired of lifting the car a foot in the air for very little/minimal purpose. I found these to be just what I was looking for. There are no issues with them not being level or bent. It's a solid paint job with no issues and they can work on Jeeps and suburbans as well. *While I'm at it, I'd like to order more Jack Stands if needed. The next time I buy these, I will definitely buy them.
The four pairs I have can safely support a midsize sedan, a fullsize diesel pickup, and components of a four post lift with a 14000 lb capacity. In general, they perform as expected. In terms of safety and utility, they aren't much different from any other ratchet. The "one star" comments indicate that generally people are ill-equipped to use a tool. Based on the "one star" reviews, I have to conclude that the people who have written them have no clue what they are doing. The safety-related portion is another 9% Again, there are "allies" who do not understand how to use.
A little bit of an issue, but it worked for a while. I am unable to secure the jack in an elevated position after the metal broke after a few uses. Thank goodness it broke as I was moving it out of storage to where I would use it (just when i was moving it to the place where I would.
The camper I was trying to support weighed 900 pounds, so I used four of these. In a split second, the jacks buckled, and the RV flipped! Despite the deadline for returning, I've already gone past it. Would anyone be interested in buckling up?.
If anyone were to read this, please keep in mind that the rating for these, and all Torin stands, is based on In the instructions/manual for the product, there is an explanation of this. There is no reason at all why two ton stands should only be one ton each. an old pair of Snap On stands rated at 2 tons, and they are almost twice as heavy as these because they are each 2 tons. It is therefore important to read the instructions carefully.
As new, I purchased two pairs of the 2 ton jack stands. Several minutes after the stands were removed from their packaging, the photographs were taken. It doesn't matter to me that they are dings and chips if I had bought these as used, I wouldn't care about them at all. As for buying a NEW product, especially one that prevents a car from falling on my face, I intend to buy a brand new product. The chances are they have been returned for reasons other than cosmetic reasons if they have already been used. In the near future, I'll inquire about different brands and look for a refund. Spend a little extra on something of better quality if you want to make yourself happy. If you were going to buy these for car work, you may as well spend a little more to make sure you get a safer and unused product.
