I bought it to replace my old HF engine hoist. The junk in that one lasted five years, which is pretty good. That would be great if this one did the same. The bolts popped right into place. Including the time to look for sockets and PB blast the bolts, it took maybe 15 minutes. It will take time to see how well it will last. The one I received was red, doesn't match at all, but I'm not bothered by it. It seems to be working correctly.

I'm not sure how the rating of this ram aligns with the rating of the engine hoist, but it seems to work fine. This has been a workhorse for years. I have used it constantly for two years and left it outdoors. My project required me to build a hoist for the back of a lawnmower. It is way too much for me, but then I attempted to pull some fence posts out and I had to use the hydraulic ram because the 2000lb winch wouldn't turn. Since it has been exposed to the elements for two years, it is a bit slow in the winter under 30 degrees. My constant use of it drives me crazy. It is well worth the time.
