This plate does not feel heavy like my old plates, and it does not come with studs and My bottom plate is slightly warped, so I hammered it on the ground a few times to get it straight. Apparently, the top plate is welded on in a crooked manner. Used it for a few years, but dang, need to step up a bit.
I love how easy it is to lift plates. Choosing this one over others was due to the oval shaped lifting holes and the ability to accept the hoist hook easily. I have used other lift plates in the past that wouldn't accept the hoist hook, so a separate chain had to be used.
The welds look great and the finish is excellent.
The reason we gave you this will be apparent to you when you receive it. The welds are perfect and the metal is nice and thick. If my engine hangs over my paint, it's what I trust. It's drilled for every kind of engine imaginable and it works perfectly.
This pulls out like it should. I used it for a small block chevy.
A product that is not level To be installed properly, it needs to be flat. During manufacturing, poor workmanship is apparent - Customer service at Amazon is excellent.
The other bids may seem cheaper, but only have partial welding bids. You are lifting engines about 600 pounds, it is not a game. Safety is the no. 1 issue, and all welds are required to be complete and all the way around. There are no other ones that could pass an FAA inspection.
A full length bead and a thoroughly welded joint led to a sense of safety in my mind. A tig weld appears to have been used. There's a slight warp to the plate due to welding heat, which makes it not sit completely flat, but for my purposes it wasn't a problem.
