Questions & Answers

Is it a Chinese product?

It's not made in the United States; it's made in Taiwan. Given that Taiwan is a staunch ally of the United States and is currently engaged in an armed conflict with China, no one should have any reservations about purchasing this well-designed and well-made drain pan. After draining the oil from my truck's diesel engine, mine is rather full and heavy, and it doesn't flex as I handle and pour the used oil into multiple containers for transport to our local recycling center. If I ever needed another, I'd buy one right away.

How does it fare when it comes to splashing?

It was used to change the oil, transmission, and differential fluids. There will be no dripping. The purchase has exceeded my expectations. I would strongly suggest it.

What's the best way to clean the pan after it's been used?

After emptying the pan, I wipe it down with a few paper towels. It's impossible to tell whether it's been used or not.

What is the circumference of the circle? I'm looking for a way to put something around my water softener in a tight space to catch water if there's an issue. ?

I'm not sure you meant "circumference" when you said that. The flat part of the bottom is smaller than the rim, and the interior isn't exactly circular. The rim is a circle with a DIAMETER of about 19". I believe we will lose one person. If it were round, the bottom would be 13" in diameter, with 5" on each side from the rim and taper. However, the circle is cut short by about 2". I believe a softener tank with a diameter of 11" would fit. I'm not sure if the bottom ribs could support a fully loaded softener, which would likely weigh more than 100 pounds. With a tank inside, it could only hold about a gallon before overflowing. Why not invest in a water heater catch pan and connect it to your floor drain with a pipe or hose?

I am confident in my ability to complete the task at hand
4/5

After 60 years on the planet, I bought my first pickup truck and quickly discovered that the 13 quarts of oil in the 6. My two old oil drain pans that I'd been using for years wouldn't fit a 7L diesel engine. I searched the internet for an appropriate oil drain pan and chose this one. I haven't used it yet, but after carefully examining its characteristics and robustness upon receipt, I am confident that it will do the job with reasonable ease. Although there is no perfect technical solution for designing and selling the "perfect" drain pan, this one appears to strike a good balance between price, weight, draining ease, and wiping out ease. It's significantly larger and more rigid than the pan I've been using without complaint for over 25 years, and the spout's dimensions will allow me to safely pour the drained oil into my collection of 5 qt. Without the need for a modified funnel, you can recycle jugs. I'm not a big fan of oil drain pans, but this one might be the best one I've ever used.

THERE IS NOTHING FLIMBY ABOUT THIS PLACE
5/5

It makes a difficult task a little less difficult. It's ideal for oil changes that require a large amount of capacity. Tundra is ideal. This oil rain pan is well-made. There's nothing here that's flimsy. It's a heavy plastic. tough. At the back, there are convenient grab handles. Repositioning under the vehicle/controlling/sliding/carrying heavy oil around the front spout. In addition, I use the hand front hole to hang/store it on the wall when not in use. When hung on the wall, a well-designed rim lip prevents residual oil from leaking out. Nice!br>br>For me, an 8qrt oil change means that this large oil pan is less than half full. As a result, there is no slosh. This is a great size for oil changes on larger cars and trucks. If you're a small import with a low-profile chassis, You require something smaller due to a lack of space. not quite as tall This is for larger vehicles that require more space beneath the carriage. captures more fluidly br>br>I prefer to dispose of dirty oil by pouring it into other containers. The snout flows easily and predictably. Use a funnel if necessary, but most of the time you can just pour it in. The old oil gushes out of the vehicle oil pan with a lot of pressure, but the well designed deep sides contain the oil well/minimize splashing, which is perfect for pick up trucks (like Toyota Tundra) where I'm dropping 8 quarts at a time. This pan is a full bore, full flow, fully open, full capture pan, unlike some styles that have a single one-inch hole in the top for oil to flow into the pan's bottom. It goes off without a hitch. br>br>THE END RESULTS: There aren't any disadvantages that I can think of. It was on sale for 15 dollars, so I snatched it up. This pan is worth it at a higher bargain price. performs exceptionally well will last a lifetime and a half A dirty, oily job is made a little easier by good craftsmanship, clever engineering, and tough material. br>br>EASY TO EARN 5- STARS!.

It worked well, but it isn't strong enough to support four people
4/5

5 gallons total This was a fantastic idea. The large diameter allowed for easy catching of the oil, and the handles and pouring spout made pouring the oils into containers relatively simple. br>br>The capacity of this oil drain pan is stated to be 4. Actual capacity if under 4 gallons (16 liters) is 5 gallons (16 liters). 0 gal. br>br>I used it for the first time to drain 3. 8 quarts (14. Hydraulic oil from a John Deere 2025R tractor (4 liters). The drain pan should have had enough capacity, but the 3. The 8 gallon container was on the verge of overflowing. The used oil was transferred to smaller containers, which confirmed that it was approximately. 8 gallons (less than 4 gallons) There is no used oil present (0 gal). If you require fewer than four, please contact us. a capacity of 0 gallons - This is an excellent oil-draining pan. If you plan to use all four, make sure you have enough. a 5 gallon capacity Keep absorbent materials on hand in case of an overflow.

It's a big, sturdy piece of furniture, but it's difficult to keep clean
4/5

While this is a great size, and you don't have to worry about moving it as the stream of oil, transmission fluid, or whatever slows down, I get that the form is the use with the indentions and extrusions are designed to create rigidity, which they do, much better than the Walmart version that is half this price; I believe the only way they were able to make it so large while keeping it so strong was to create numerous crevices for the fluids to get stuck in. If it's kept in the shop and you don't have to worry about kids getting into it, it's probably a five-star product; if you have to clean it out every time, it's probably a three-star product; I'm in the middle, so it gets four stars.

This is a solid catchpan that will get the job done
4/5

Despite reading all of the negative reviews about how other users of this product disliked the squarish spout, I decided to purchase it. This catch pan is very sturdy and light for its size, so you won't have to worry about it warping when you pick it up when it's full of liquid. It may take a little longer to clean the nooks and crannies where the liquid flows toward the spout, but it's not a deal breaker. This isn't one of those catch pans that collects liquid in a container before being stored upright. This catchpan is designed for drains that may cause a mess in a larger area, such as when a tranny pan is dropped. Finally, if you have a steady hand, the square spout will transfer the liquid just fine.

Excellent craftsmanship and design
5/5

It's also very sturdy. It's a challenging situation. It's tough enough to stand on while turned upside down. I weighed 180 pounds and stood on the edge with one foot close to the edge. I wanted to test it because one reviewer said it was thin, so I didn't use it as an ordinary oil pan. It isn't particularly thick or bulky, but it isn't "thin" either, and it is more than adequate for the job - It should last a lifetime unless you use it as a fire pit. It's hard to get excited about an oil pan, even if it's well-designed with a lip to prevent the inevitable drips and mess that other pans often cause. It appeals to my tastes.

An oil pan that doesn't make a mess
5/5

Plastic is used to make this oil pan. There will be no bending or flexing of the body. It has a large catch area for draining oil and has little to no splashing issues. br>br>I like this style of oil drain pan because I can simply pour the dirty oil back into the container from my new oil using the pour spout (which is also nice and sturdy). There aren't any of those dreadful horizontal screw-in anchors here. on lids that don't actually seal well enough to keep the oil inside. This is how you should proceed. br>br>An oil change will never be spotless, but it can be done in a clean-up manner. It was simple enough to get up here with some paper towels and soap.
