When removing and reinstalling the harmonic balancer on a 2006 GTO LS2, this tool was used to hold the flywheel. It was a cinch to use. It was bolted in place of the starter and slid right into the flywheel's teeth. It was well worth the money.
This 14 dollar tool is worth every penny when it comes to keeping your crank and cam timing in check. On my 2007 Silverado 5, I completely rebuilt the engine. There are three of them in the driveway, and there are no impact tools or a garage. It only takes a minute to place it between your teeth, and you don't need two people to do so.
It's easy to use, and I used it while working on an LS2 (L77). I removed the engine from the vehicle, but it appears that it could be used with or without the engine.
Holds flywheel on GM LS engine to properly torque balancer bolt, as well as assisting in removal. With this tool, I didn't have to take out the steering rack. For the installation of the flywheel holder, the starter must be taken down.
There will be no second-guessing. gussing. The tool is made of high-quality materials and is extremely durable. br>br>Once it's in place, I know the flywheel is locked, so I don't have to guess when removing and installing the harmonic balancer. It irritated R. The R harmonic balancer makes things a lot simpler. The money spent is well spent.
When I had to replace my harmonic balancer on my 2006 Silverado, this site was extremely helpful. br>It took me about 10 minutes to move my starter out of the way so that I could use this useful tool. If you don't want to use a pry bar to hold the flywheel in place, it's worth the money and time.
This is a very useful product that does exactly what it says it will. I believe it is slightly off-spec, which leads you to believe it will not work. It made it very easy for me to remove the balancer. Yes, I would buy it again, but hopefully not in the near future.
I don't use a tool like this very often, but it's perfect for holding a flywheel in place while removing a balancer. It was a perfect match. Heavy-duty construction.
