Duramax 2500/3500 pickups are being worked on. Remove the metal spring-loaded inspection plate from the transmission's bottom. The top of the tool should engage the teeth of the flywheel as it slides into the opening towards the engine.

Instead of removing the starter to replace the water pump, the flywheel can be locked at the transmission.

Remove the rubber inspection cap from the bottom of the transmission with toothed pieces and screws. To engage the flywheel, place the tool in the front of the opening and hand tighten the bolt to keep it in place.

Use a 3/4" square drive wrench and a forged 36mm socket on the balancer bolt.

Flywheel locking tool is anti-rust and corrosion-resistant, as it is made of CRV steel with durability.
