Tooluxe 20724L Xenon Automotive Inductive Timing Light | Foreign and Domestic Engines

This isn't worth the time. It was early September when I started working on the timing on my car and I finally got around to it this month. It has been a week since I opened the box to use it. I used this light TWO times and both times I wrapped it up well and put it back in the box and in my mechanic toolbox (like most mechanics I try to take good care of my tools). Today I opened it to check the timing while I was adjusting I lost the ability to set my timing in the middle of the process. The connection was re-established and I tried again but still no luck. When I shake the bottle, a rattle is heard. No matter how many times I try to return it, I don't do it. Since the return window has closed, I cannot do it. I just threw $20 away for a useless piece of plastic that I will add to the growing mountain of modern disposables in the garbage. As a result, I learned that you need to buy a tool as soon as you are ready to use it instead of relying on it to.

The 70s were synonymous with Xenon bulbs as a good timing light. There is no point in buying this product. Once your hand gets close enough to see the timing mark, the blades of your fan will cut your hand off. Save your money and don't waste it. A refund was issued to me for this item. With an additional $10 order, I was able to get a working light. Due to being a cheapskate and not reading reviews, I did not read them.

As long as you don't mind the price and the cords being a little flimsy, this product is wonderful. However, I have heard complaints about the timing light not being bright enough and the quality of the cords being poor. I found the light to be superb for $15. While the light is bright enough to set the timing even during the day (or it was for me at least), the timing is difficult to read. In a word, the only thing I wish to add has nothing to do with the quality of the product Before you use your timing marks, paint them or chalk them with a reflective color. Having rusty and/or worn harmonic balancer timing indicators will make all the difference in the world. Even the $100 lights won't work well if their timing indicators are rusted or Despite the price it is well worth the money because it does everything that it should do. In my review, I don't evaluate the product based on how well it was built. It could have been heavier guage wires, but as long as you don't mess with it too much or hook it up improperly, it does the job just fine. To check the timing on the many engines I am working on, I purchased this. Though I am not a licensed mechanic, I have been working on cars since 1991 when my dad bribed me to change the brake pads on a Mitsubishi Starion. It's cheap, so it's going to be cheap, low quality. My use of it turned out to be successful. As I mentioned before, it broke recently, but if you're good with electronics, you can fix it as I have. If you are on a tight budget and need a timing light, $15 dollars is a whole lot cheaper than going to the flea market. The timing light you're looking at is as good as this one, if you have more than $25 to spend on it.

There was a poor build quality to this product. Battery leads were probably 16 gauge wire, and the clamp wire was After receiving it about 2 months after I bought it, it had already passed the return period, so I never even took it out of the package. Not all of my money was refunded by Amazon, but some of it was. Take care of yourself by getting everything you need to do the job right.

This is a good product for the price. It works well, but I don't think it will last too long. There is an air of cheapness about it That said, I'm being extremely careful with it. It looks very much like the Harbor Freight build quality.
