Selected User Reviews For Performance Tool W16500 Professional DEF Tester
My assumption here was that it would be simpler than using a spectrometer, but was incorrect. In my measurement of a new DEF box, the value read as “bad. ” However, the instructions recommend it as good. Using my refractor, the reading came out perfect, as the DEF was new, in its original packaging, stored indoors, and only a few months old - not the quality one would expect of such a new tool. This tool cannot be trusted and is not accurate.
My mistake was to go with a refractory style rather than this one. There are much better and more accurate ways, but they cost three times as much. It still saved me 1k even when the dealer told me I had bad DEF, but I tested it in the parking lot before picking up the truck, and caught them on their lie.
I received the tester already broken waiting a couple days for delivery, this means that my review is to buy something else.
It was nearly five stars, except that the hose broke off at the bottom after several uses. Then he replied. It even appeared in a book. My time would have been better spent elsewhere.
The DEF provided good results and the product has been rated as working as advertised.
When I took it out of the box I found that the rubber hose connecting the tester to the probe had broken, and it was cheaply.
In order to give my father his own refractometer, I bought it at Christmas time. He kept borrowing my refractometer. wanted to be able to accurately check his cooling system in his truck and the difference between the coolant and the differential fluid. As far as I know, he has been pleased with it. As of yet, there hasn't been a complaint.
