As far as I'm concerned, this cable does everything that I needed it to. Through the use of INPA, EDIABAS, and NCSexpert, I was able to communicate with my vehicle. My recommendation is to follow my protocol The included disc includes drivers for the USB to serial chip, but no other software. Find the software you need elsewhere online and replace the included disc with the drivers. If you follow this procedure, you will be able to avoid any "virus" warnings that the software on the disc may create. There are no drivers from an untrustworthy source included on the disc that came with the package. These are digitally signed FT232 drivers. the included disc contains the software and you need to use this cable to work on your car, then you probably shouldn't use this cable for car repairs. You may be nervous about using BMW software if you have never used it before, and I would strongly suggest you take a few weeks to read about how to use the software and where it can be downloaded. Here are the steps I took to set up The cable was connected to my laptop, and when prompted for a driver, I inserted the disc and looked for the drivers listed My drivers were successfully installed, but I now needed to install INPA, WinKFP, EDIABAS, and NCSexpert from other sources online (NOT the disc that came with the installation). My device manager reported the new serial port as COM 1, so I configured it to use that. Once the cable was connected to my car, I opened INPA and was able to read and write to the car without any difficulty. You should note A 32 bit version of Windows XP service pack 3 is installed on an older Dell laptop and I experienced no problems with installing drivers or software. It may matter that when I received the cable, there was no green PCB, but I received a white PCB instead. It has a good feel to it (as I am not a professional shop, I won't be judging this cable's durability or ability to stand up to daily use or abuse) and I expect it to work fine for what I intend to use This purchase has been satisfactory to me in general.

I had replaced both camshaft sensors as a result of the 2A9A and 2A9B Once I had done this and not seen any difference in the engine's performance, I went for the engine timing and camshaft alignment. It took a while, but when I finally got it, I had the exact same codes. hooked it up to my EEE PC laptop running Windows XP SP3 after I loaded INPA and it told me what the problem was. When I installed the sensors I thought they were Camshaft sensors, but the parts store sent me 2 Crankshaft sensors, and the INPA system reported A synchro signal of (132) is invalid. INPA provided me with the part number of the sensors so that I could verify it. In the crankshaft & drive shaft They are just different on the inside. Who would have thought? Both camshaft sensors are exactly the same size! It would have been better for me to spend a lot more time checking electrical connections, etc.

I was left stranded with my 2007 BMW 328i because of a steering wheel lock that showed red. After noticing the lock several weeks earlier because of an old battery, I quickly learned that it was an ELV counter, which I promptly replaced. The cable company brought cable in yesterday, and today I went to work. Initially, I was unable to get the software to work on my Windows 10 laptop after much frustration, I installed Windows 7, and then after more frustration, I was finally able to make it However, the software that came with the kit is in German, however I found a workaround online for an English Although I spent the majority of a day getting the software to work, formatting hard drives and dealing with Windows 7 and usb 3 devices, I was able to get it up and running. As far as I am concerned, there are no issues. I was told by both the dealership and independent shops that I needed to replace the entire steering column, as they had never heard of this problem occurring because of the dead battery. The next few months will be spent tweaking my car's systems and unlocking new features.
