Questions & Answers
Are abs codes picked up by the program?
0.L) using FordSysFree or MotorDataOBD Free (both Android-based). Codes in the Cxxxx range are ABS codes. My mine was correctly picked up, A speed sensor failed in the right wheel of the front vehicle. I am not aware of any other adapters that can read these codes with other Android Apps, but the ELM327 BAFX adapter does capture ABS codes for Ford. This is the only one I have tested to date. This adapter is compatible with FORScan for PC, so these codes should also be picked up by FORScan for PC. Despite not having tested Torque PRO, I don't believe the hardware can be used to read ABS codes.
Do I have to unplug it when I'm not using it?
Chris, thanks for getting in touch. As a BAFX Products Support representative, I can advise you that in MOST vehicles, leaving the adapter plugged in as long as the vehicle is driven daily will suffice. In any case, we suggest the following 1) Do not leave the adapter plugged in unless it will be driven for more than 24 hours 2) If your area is experiencing freezing temperatures, unplug the adapter as the combination of cold and the adapter will drain the battery faster*br>3) If your battery is older than a year, completely remove it on a daily basis. Feel free to reach out to us through the Amazon messaging system at any time if you have any further questions! *br>Best In the case of a battery that is over 2 years old, you should NOT leave it plugged in, as old batteries do not hold as much power as new 4) If you have an electronics-heavy vehicle, such as BMWs tend to be, we do not recommend leaving them plugged in as the electronics of the vehicle often do not fully shut down. I hope these tips and information prove useful. *br>5) You should remove any other devices plugged into the vehicle while it is off, either through the cigarette port or otherwise.
What happens if this app is used ?
Yes, I have Windows Phone 8 running on a Nokia 920 and using OBDAutoDoctor. Before starting an OBD2 scan tool application, you need to connect to the PIC18F2480 via Bluetooth. There are only a few OBD2 apps for Windows Phone 8 so far. Free OBDAutoDoctor provides some information about your vehicle, but it is limited in what it takes. My pro version of Skyrim just got unlocked. I have a problem with my computer A purchase on the app. You can click the The app will automatically update if you select the "update" button at the bottom. For $7, you can upgrade to the Pro version.
Are ABS codes read by this device?
My name is BAFX Products and I am with BAFX products. Sorry, but it does not appear to be able to read You can use any code you like, except VSC. Codes it is able to read are only those that bring on the "check engine" light on your vehicle. If you want to read other lights, you will need more specialized tools. I wish you all the best, BAFX
Selected User Reviews For Bafx Products - For Android Only - Wireless Bluetooth Obd2 Scanner Diagnostic Code Reader & Scan Tool - Scan, Reset & Clear Car Check Engine Light
I bought the adapter five years ago, and it had worked great until my wife's car couldn't signal it
Its customer service is excellent. As far as connecting to my car is concerned, it worked just fine. I sent bafx an email to inquire whether there had been any updates to the adapter since the one I originally purchased. In the next couple of days Mark from Bafx wrote me back and told me that there had been no updates to the product. He had me perform some tests and then offered to check my adapter for me if I After I sent it to them, they sent me a new one a few days later. For a device that was over 4 years out of warranty, I had not expected such a level of support from them. Please accept my apologies for this long review. I just wanted to share some thoughts with you. I am very pleased with the new adapter.

My review has been deleted by Amazon several times for my 2005 Honda Accord
This is fine, I've posted it on Facebook. I also inserted the nice story about Amazon being bribed to remove.

My $1,000 is safe with you
An excellent device. I have already saved more than $1,000 using it. went to a repair shop who told me a transmission was needed. The only significant code was for a faulty turbine speed sensor. I purchased this scan tool, downloaded an app for it (there are many) and ran the scan. My transmission now behaves as if it were brand new after I replaced the sensor myself. Among the various bluetooth OBDII scan tools I owned, this is the only one that actually worked. It has the full support of the company. It is not only the device I am impressed with, but also the company whose owner contacted me directly to ask if I was satisfied with it. The answer is yes.

The best tool that you can buy for the price
It was ordered in order to diagnose the P0420 code that my car had been displaying intermittently for about six Initially, the auto parts store scanned it and I got the code, but to get a definite diagnosis I would have had to take it to the shop for $45 an hour (my discount applies). There were a few things I studied online for a scan tool, but I found these things on YouTube that did all the same things for a fraction of the cost. I looked around for a few weeks for the best low-cost scan tool, and this one stuck out. It was one of the cheapest, and BAFX seemed a decent company so I bought Upon receiving the tool, I found a plain white box with packing peanuts, a setup and troubleshooting guide, and a tiny compact disc that I imagine fits in a CD-ROM drive. It doesn't have a ROM drive (never used I found the instructions to be helpful for getting a basic idea of how the system is initially configured. The company has never caused any problems for us. For the tool to work, you will need an Android smartphone or tablet, and you can use any smartphone or tablet (even an old one). It basically consists of connecting it to the car's DLC port (under the dash), waiting for the red light to come on, connecting your Bluetooth, and searching for the device. It should appear as some obscure name or as an Connect your computer with the password 1,2,3,4 and that's all you have to do. The process is simple. You need to use it) to get it That's what I decided to buy for $4, so I got Torque Pro. You will be able to find this out on the web for 99 cents (Lite version is pretty There are other apps that can be used with this, but Torque is the best. The app will set up the adapter once it runs. As soon as it connects, it will begin transmitting information from the car's Even though it costs just $30, this is a remarkable product. Using this device, the PID code from every sensor in the vehicle can be read, enabling it to read all data from the vehicle computer. Due to the fact that it's only an OBD II (for cars 1996 and newer) reader, it only reads generic and vehicle-specific codes. Data on emissions and powertrains specific to each vehicle. This scanner will not read ABS and airbag codes from the chassis or SRS. If you want a higher salary, you need to This end-to-end tool is dedicated to the task. Despite the Subaru's large engine, none of the sensors except DC voltage and oil pressure were read. is able to read codes as well, and you are able to It was a pretty quick process to refresh sensor data. As long as I had it, I didn't have any issues with connection. Since the head gaskets on my car are leaking, I use it to keep an eye on the coolant temperature. When you have a P0420 code, you can monitor your oxygen sensor data to check if your catalytic converters need to be replaced. Diagnostic instrument used to diagnose the P0430 error code for an o2 sensor heater malfunction. Over the first time you use it to do a repair yourself instead of paying a shop or dealership, this tool will pay for itself four times over. My experience as a DIY mechanic has proved invaluable to me. I recommend this tool for your toolbox or glove box. It is inexpensive, quick to refresh sensors, high quality, and has a 1-year warranty. It can also read and clear codes, analyze live data, and have reliable connections. It's suitable for anyone who wants to do it themselves This is my favorite book ever. All it does is scan for viruses and malware for a fraction of the cost of a dedicated scanner. It is true that you need a tablet or smartphone to use it at all times, so if you do not have one, you might want to get a handheld scanner instead, but for those with a tablet or smartphone, it.

I love my job and I'm a professional at For almost 20 years, I've been a professional in the automotive industry
I have an ASE L1 advanced diagnosis As far as I am concerned, this is the best value in OBDII devices I have It cannot perform most of the tasks that I can do with the more expensive and more powerful equipment I work with ($20k+), but for quick checks and watching limited live data lists, it's the best I've found so far. As a user of the Piston app for Android, this is exceptionally easy to use We have fast live data refresh rates, and access to codes and freeze frames is straightforward. My own vehicle's fuel economy can be monitored in real time using that app and another app. Thanks for the good work, It would be nice if the money worked as well as this.

It works well - thank you The device is especially useful when towing in order to monitor transmission temperatures
The product does what it says. In addition to several gauges I wanted for towing, this kit gives my 1999 F150 several additional gauges. I now know the temperature of the cylinder head, the coolant temperature, the temperature of my transmission (at two separate locations), and the graphs are quite important if you are planning to tow a load close to the towing limit of your vehicle. I've so far been unable to measure the oil temperature in the engine Try to make it work. The truck continues to run just fine for a week with the Scan Tool installed and is not affected in any way by the battery drain. In my experience, the scan tool seems to go into sleep after a while and reactivate only when the truck is turned on. Works well with Torque, the Android program, on Android devices.

Rather than $100 or $250 or more, ask yourself if you would rather spend $25 rather than $100 or $250
My tablet works exactly as it should and I got it for a good price. I downloaded an app from Google Play but ultimately chose an app called Piston that is free and does not have advertisements. Piston, on the other hand, is a digital rather than graphic format that tells you all you need to know at a glance. In the current market, there are much more expensive devices that don't offer any more details. In some instances (ABS/SRS) this device cannot do what you would need to pay several hundred dollars for in another device. However, you can still have the scan done by a professional or you can use one of the Autozone scanners and they will do it free of charge. A great thing about this device is that it can be used in your own home as well as on the road if necessary in a breakdown situation. In addition, it can keep mechanics honest. You can download a list of error codes explaining the causes of the errors and save it for offline viewing on your smart phone. Or, you can get an app like OBD2 Code Guide to look for the error codes. As well as the causes, it offers potential solutions. As far as I know, the database is updated periodically.
