Using a Advance Auto discount code, I turned out to buy a battery and install it myself since I'm frugal, handy, and reasonably skilled. I noticed on the site that I could not attempt to install the battery myself because there was a red warning that said I needed a professional. This is a pretty scary warning, so I did a little research and found that Lexus (and many manufacturers of cars) recommend hooking my car up to another power source while I replace the battery so my car doesn't lose its settings. The reason I decided to purchase this device was because I had read horror stories of cars not starting or windows not rolling down after changing their batteries the old school way. Since then, I purchased the device to ensure that the car stayed powered while I changed its I was very happy with the results! Even though there are no instructions, you can figure it out quite easily This is self-explanatory. Alligator clamps were connected to my Honda battery and the OBD connector was connected to my Lexus. After that, I used the cigarette plug to connect the two cables together. We lost no settings or memory when the swap out took place, and the car started.
If only it worked the first time. At first, I bought it to replace the battery in my wife's car. The original battery was too dead, so I thought maybe it wouldn't make a difference to replace it. My mom's car just got a new hose on it. Not a single thing was saved. The change had no effect. It's got a lot of holes, but I bought it 4 months ago I'd return it. it worked for others. The only time I use it is for emergencies. I don't have much confidence in it.
Due to a broken plastic plug on my item, I had to tape it so that it would remain attached. The fact that I couldn't be certain that I was receiving current allowed me to be quite doubtful about Because I already owned the new battery and wanted it installed so I could receive my core deposit back, I was forced to use it just as it was. I was able to implement it. In the absence of a broken link I would have given a higher rating.
There's a 2007 Acura TL in my garage Plugging the unit in connected to a battery, then removing it, was my first step. Although my radio and security had to be reset, I still had to update my software. Although I am not sure, I did not have any luck with it.
There were no instructions included with the kit (sequence puzzled me) so I was a bit hesitant to plug it in. The steps I followed were installing the clips on a fresh battery, connecting the OBD port, and then connecting the cigarette lighter ports. It worked like a charm and no data was lost.
2014 Chevrolet.
In my Flex, I replaced my battery. I was able to save a lot of time by selecting my seats and radios in advance.
You can use this tool to replace the battery in your car, no data loss.
