I easily jumped the car using the connections on both cars. These are directly connected to the batteries and can also be used to charge them. They will almost certainly give you a false reading indicating that the battery needs to be replaced! THIS TESTER MUST BE DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY POSTS! I discovered this the hard way after replacing the battery in one of my older cars. After installing the new battery, I decided to double-check the old one before returning it to the store for a refund on the core charge. This tester returned a positive result, indicating that the battery was in excellent condition! I then went to a parts store with the other battery that was supposed to be bad, and it turned out to be fine as well! This tester must be connected to the battery posts, not another charging or jumping location! This is something they should mention in the description. I hope this information prevents others from making the same mistakes I did.
The ANCEL BA101 was my first purchase, but it didn't work when it arrived. It started when the clamps were connected to the battery terminals, and the only languages I could understand were Polish and Russian. I returned it and placed an order for this unit instead. It worked fine when I got it, and it appears to be a higher-quality unit in general. If there is any complaint it is the same complaint I have with 99% of electrical equipment today in that the wire insulation is made of plastic rather than flexible rubber. When it's cold, they have a memory and aren't as adaptable. Instead of the stiff plastic insulated wires that come with it, more flexible wires could have been used for a little bit more money.
This is a massive test! br>br> I spent a significant amount of time shopping and comparing options; I took into account what well-known youtubers had to say, and I'm glad I got this tester! br>br>The battery, cranking, and charging are all tested. Because of the covid, it is necessary to drive less.
My car failed the crank test (it took too long to crank), but I had just replaced the battery and it tested at 100% state of health (soh The problem was resolved after I tightened the battery connections. 100 A br>br>100 A br>br>100 A br>br>100 A.
I put a BRAND NEW battery through its paces three times. The first said BAD 51%, then 42%, then 21%, then 42%, then 21%. I hooked the battery to my Noco Charger/Maintainer, which runs its own test. The battery tested from 10% to 100% with no error in 15 seconds. So I repeated the test three times and got the same, nearly identical results each time. I couldn't be happy! Either the battery or the tester was defective. One of these had to be changed out! I returned the battery and had it tested on a service tester, similar to the one I use at home; it passed. I returned this item and will now test batteries with my Noco. It isn't portable, but it is small and accurate!.
While a basic battery reader/tester can be had for a lot less money, I'm glad I spent the extra money on this tester. Few testers will provide you with the battery's internal resistance, which can reveal a lot about the battery's health and possibly why it's failing. You can also check the performance of your alternator by starting the car and testing the battery while it is charging. As you can see in the video, I'm glad I got this tester when I did because my battery isn't holding up well and is likely to die soon. If you own several cars or vehicles, I believe that purchasing a unit like this is a no-brainer. It has a variety of lead acid battery types to choose from, as well as all of the necessary test features.
I charge all of these batteries every few months, starting with the lead acid battery, which is the oldest. The lead acid was the first to be tested and thank goodness it said it only needed a charge (67% healthy, 50% charge). After charging the battery, it was determined to be "good. " The other two AGM's were both purchased within the last year and were both tested at 100% healthy in different charge states. I'm currently charging the AGMs one at a time, which means I won't have to replace the lead acid battery - thanks to this tool. yet. It was purchased in August 2016, but given that it's from Japan (in a Nissan), I'm sure it's much older. The peace of mind provided by the battery tester is well worth it. My wife's car battery died at the grocery store last year. Thankfully, she was able to jump start the car and drive to an auto parts store, where it was replaced with one of the new AGMs. I don't want that to happen again, so I'm hoping this tester will help me keep track of my battery life - This, as well as a good battery charger, are essential. I'd like to be able to detect a bad battery (if possible) before another family member becomes stranded when I'm not around. Although I understand that batteries can fail at any time, this could at least provide me with some advance warning.
I figured I'd need one of these because my car battery was getting old. A Toyota Corolla is my vehicle of choice. PROS: br>br>
- Simple to operate - Simply attach the screen to the battery terminals and read it. br>- It is extremely quick, providing a reading in secondsbr>- The screen is simple to readbr>- It's simple to share with family and friendsbr>- The clamps are made of copper. br>br>CONS:
- I'm not sure why there are so many other functions.
It doesn't work; I tried it on a one-year-old battery, and it said I needed to replace it. When I tried it with a different battery, it said it needed to be charged. On the first battery, I tried it again and it froze. It's going back to you.
