The kit appears to be a good one, but it doesn't include the fittings I require, so I can't use it. Pontiac 2 is a vehicle that is based on the Pontiac The supply line on 4 engines is a 3/8 quick disconnect, and this is where a fuel pressure test is recommended. The kit has adapter hoses for 5/8 and 5/16, but none for 3/8, and there are no pieces in there that I can make work. I'm going to get some threaded 3/8 quick disconnect adapters and see what I can come up with. If the threads are in good condition, it should work. I'll make the necessary changes to my review. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I was able to connect the gauge to my Grand Am using OTC GM 3/8 fuel line fittings, which I purchased on Amazon. The fittings are a little on the pricey side, but I couldn't find anything else that would work. On one end, I tried using fittings that were supposed to be screw on 3/8 (also purchased here), but the threads didn't match anything in this kit. The gauge worked perfectly after I hooked it up and assisted me in diagnosing the issue (low fuel pressure). If you're buying this kit for a GM vehicle, you may need to purchase additional fittings.
I hold the designation of ASE Certified Technician. The very first thing I did with this kit was - M10 Banjo Connector - won't even properly LOCK to the gauge I've just spent four days hoping that this toolkit was a good buy - That's not the case. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> br>br>I've raised my rating from one to two stars. The fittings with schrader valves did not have the valves seating deep enough to lock to the gauge, which I found to be a critical flaw in this kit. I was able to deepen the valves enough for them to function using a separate tool and some force. The end user, on the other hand, should not be forced to do so. The kit should have undergone quality assurance testing and be ready to use.
I couldn't afford a higher-end OTC or snap-on when I first started out as a small auto shop owner, so I settled for this. br>The kit appears to include the majority of the necessary fittings for connecting to vehicles. All of the threaded fittings are supposed to screw into something with a quick connect to be able to be connected to the gauge, but mine doesn't have that, so even if you have the right fitting to attach to the car, you can't connect it to the gauge hose. Im not sure if mine is missing a piece or what, but all of the threaded fittings are supposed to screw into something with a quick connect to be able to be connected to the gauge, mine doesn' br>br>I always end up rigging something together; I just tried to find something to connect a hummer h3 for fuel testing and couldn't find anything; you'd think they'd have at least the common 3/8th fuel quick connects. There aren't any like you'd see on most cars.
I had my doubts about this carb because the price seemed too good to be true. I figured it was worth a shot. I'm glad I didn't spend $200 on this. 00 - 400 00 on a stock carburetor because it's such a great deal. My bike has never performed as well as it did this time. Don't be afraid to try it; it's an excellent carb.
It's not the best quality, but it gets the job done, and for the price, I think it's a good deal. I was able to check fuel rail pressure on a 4. 0 Jeep that lacks a fuel system test port.
The best deal I could find for the entire package, including the case. It comes with a booklet that explains which fittings to use with which vehicle. So far, it's been used on three different vehicles. 1998 Porsche Boxster 986, 1989 Chevrolet S10 Truck, and 1998 Honda Accord Lx 2 3l. For the Honda, I had to purchase a separate adapter.
When I had problems with my fuel system on a Ford chassis motorhome, I bought this pressure tester because it came with an adapter specifically for the Ford fuel supply system. It was very easy to use and diagnose my issue.
The kit had the adaptor I needed and made the test quick, easy, and safe on a 1995 Accord that didn't have a connection port on the fuel rail, only a removable bolt; the kit had the adaptor I needed and made the test quick, easy, and safe.
