At this time, we do not manufacture an 8-volt battery tester.br>Deltran USA Customer Service
A deep cycle battery's reserve capacity is not measured by the tester. The tester applies a known load to the battery and measures the battery's response to see if it's in good working order. Deltran USA br>Customer Service br>
I had two 12v batteries connected in series, but I tested them separately to see which one, if either, was defective. I believe you could test them all together, with one clamp on the farthest positive and the other on the farthest negative.
If your battery is dead, it will notify you. This unit's primary purpose is to do just that.

I noticed a rattling noise inside the unit when I first tried to use it. I inverted the unit and examined the vent holes, where I discovered a loose number 6 or 4 nut rolling around. I was disappointed because the reviews were positive and I thought this would be an excellent addition to my personal tools. Will return and reorder, as well as try again, with some reservations about the factory's quality control prior to release. There is no justification for this blatant lack of construction quality control. Furthermore, the unit is made in China, which worries me in terms of long-term dependability, but there are few other affordable options.
First, understand what this thing is. br>br>It's a voltmeter with a length of wire in parallel with it attached to a switch. br>br>On mine, for whatever reason, the wire had some chemical on it from the factory processing and it produced a smoke that smelled distinctly like burning tires. br>br>I assume some sort of chemical coating on the wire and when it heated up, this began to burn off and cause the smell. br.
This isn't something you'd use all the time. This instrument confirmed that I had a 12V battery that wasn't putting out enough power. After that, I was able to get a new battery replacement through the manufacturer's warranty. This has saved me a lot of money in the past, and it may do so again in the future, albeit infrequently. There's also a $10 difference between here and Wally World.
One of these has always been a dream of mine. This is ideal for determining which of my batteries is a POS. I adore this.
This is the product to get if you need to test any 6 or 12 volt battery. What I didn't like about it was that it said my two Trogan T105s were on the verge of failing. This isn't the fault of the product, but it's a bummer because it's only two years old. If you have a single phase RV charger, unplug it or your batteries will die.
You must lay it down because you cannot stand it up.
Because of the faulty starter, it saved me from having to replace a good battery.
It's only been used on one battery so far, but it appears to be functional.
