Questions & Answers

The tool is not supposed to work with wipers which contain hold down nuts. Other people argue that it does. What is the right position to take?

You might need a puller if yours has a grip, but the hold down is probably strong. We recommend that you do not use this tool on all wiper arms, as it is a leverage tool for removing debris.

What is the use of this tool for a 1969 GMC pickup truck ?

The answer is yes. Almost any old GM car with blades that are not bolted on will work with it. I was Ron

Do you know if this will work on a ?

My VW Jetta did not respond when I tried to use it In the end, it was of no use Instead of getting a puller, I recommend getting one that actually works

In mythology, a unicorn is a magical creature Currently, Windshield Wiper Arm Removal (Puller) Tool is in status
5/5

The other day I was almost sure that this tool was a unicorn, as I am with some proprietary tools. A number of these items were not available at the local stores where I tried to acquire them! There was a Carquest store where I could walk in and find a variety of tools and things to work on cars at Autozone, O'Reilly Auto, Merle's Auto, even a local auto parts store. The thing I am talking about ain't it. When I asked where I could find this specific tool, a windshield wiper arm puller, people looked at me like I was crazy. Obviously, Amazon delivers as well. Here's the real deal, there's no need to look anywhere else. As I write this, I'm working on an X-Men story from the 1980's In the Body vehicle, and much like older vehicles, there is a hood cowl that can be retracted. However, in order to do so, you have to remove the wiper arms first. In all the places I went, even when I went to talk to my local mechanic briefly to simply check in, they all said I could remove the wiper arms without using the tool, and even showed me exactly how to do it. The video I had seen of this tool in action had made me know "I don't care if it's a one trick pony, I need it! In fact, this very tool can even be found in the actual automotive repair manuals on how to remove and install windshield wiper arms. It occurs to you that you are going to need anything to take off a windshield wiper arm, and this is the place to hit.

IF YOU READ & USE IT RIGHT, IT WILL WORK
5/5

There were a few reviews complaining that the tool made the tool "bend" when used, which didn't As a result, I was surprised that the amount of pressure required to work this tool is quite minimal IF used correctly. When I showed a friend the tool, he bent the tool and wiper arm almost to pieces since he did not understand how it operated. While the instruction booklet is tiny and almost useless (a video by the manufacturer would be great for a beginner), the video itself would be very helpful. It is also the spring pressure that holds the rubber blade against the glass that holds the arm in place. As soon as the arm is released from the tension, it will slide off the pivot post (in case the pivot post is corroded, it may take a little wiggle). USE THE TOOL TO REMOVE THE WIPER ARM, NOT THE TOOL TO REMOVE By placing one part of the tool under the arm part on the pivot shaft opposite the wiper blade side and gently pulling the wiper blade arm up to the tool handle (one hand will do it), the spring tension against the pivot post is released and the arm slips up and off. Despite its robustness, the tool is not prone to bending during use.

This will be necessary if you use wiper arms with splined inserts
5/5

When you have to remove and install wiper arms frequently, you of course need this thing. Having them installed in such a way that they can be quickly removed again in order to perfectly clock the arm makes it a simple and easy procedure. Having a pad to protect the point of contact on the arm would've been nice, but a razor blade allows me to cut off about an inch of the handle pad and slide it down to satisfy my need. These have been furnished to a few of my friends, and multiples of these are stocked around the shop so that I never have to think about going without them.

You've impressed me
5/5

As part of the repositioning process, I had to remove the wiper arms. Since this vintage car just got a new paint job, I did not I am incredibly pleased with how this tool works. This tool is a great example of a simple tool that works well. This device clamps onto an arm and stays attached until you slide it onto the arm and then release it. In terms of restoration, it was worth its weight in gold. I won't know if it works for new cars but it was invaluable for a restored car.

The wiper arms on the 60s era car were very difficult to remove without this tool
5/5

This little tool comes in handy when you're trying to remove an old wiper arm. A lot of work went into removing the wiper arm from my 68 Camaro. I didn't think I'd need to pry too hard and scratch paint etc. with this tool. I was amazed at the ease with which the wipers came off without any damage to the Using this tool for vintage GM vehicles from the 60s is highly recommended. It may work with other brands, but I am not sure.

Easy to use, saves a lot of time
4/5

Arriving a day early, this tool was in excellent shape. I looked at it and it seemed easy to use, but if the wiper arms have been in place for a while, it is useless. Efforts to loosen the wiper arm were futile since the tool bent before it could do so. In any case, once I got the old wipers off, I found they were very easy to remove since they had no rust in them

This tool was very helpful when reinstalling the wiper arms, so I rated it a Had the bend not been present, it would have been a 5.

It is highly recommended for GM vehicles older than 15 years old

When it comes to removing a GM wiper arm from the stud, this tool deserves praise. After getting the hang of it, you will find that your life is a lot easier, no more "colorful metaphors" when you cut I really like the ease of use, and it works well.

I haven't used a better tool since I sliced bread
5/5

Keep your head down and ignore what others say. This tool was used on a 'Gen 1 Camaro to take out the wiper arm and if used correctly it is the ONLY and propiet way to take the arm off and replace it. The product is recommended in case you are not a hacker with a screwdriver looking to ruin your classic car. I wish I could add a picture of how to use it, but the instructions speak for themselves. The tool needs to be placed so the tab is underneath the round area of the Wiper Arm (where the spindle is) and picked up on the arm (with the blade attached) so that it touches the handle of the tool and is gently pulled out. To install, you will need to reverse this process Put the blade on the new arm, grab it with the tool, and stick it on, then remove the tool and press I am done.
