Questions & Answers

Does anybody know the micron size of this pump?

An 80 micron piece of paper

Do the hoses and accessories come with the machine?

The only accessory included is an adapter for your manifold gauges, which is not included with the tubing. Any manifold gauge will work when the adapter is attached to the pump and the fitting on the pump. You can get in touch with Robinair tech support if you need to.

Can you tell me how loud it is? (Can you clearly hear the noise outside a garage that is closed?

I measured a unit that measured 90 cm The sound level is 95 decibels. There is a little bit of a problem with OSHA regulations for enclosed areas. The pump worked fine, but I returned it to find a 45 db pump that cost a lot more money, but was super quiet.

Do you know how much oil it holds? Every time you change the oil, do you have to change the filter?

I don't know for sure, but it looks like it's
In order to enhance the performance of your engine, do not REPLACE the oil, just check the level and REFILL as necessary.

Selected User Reviews For Robinair (15310) VacuMaster Single Stage Vacuum Pump - Single-Stage, 3 CFM

The pump I used is a product of Robinair, a Bosch Automotive Service Solutions brand
5/5

Surprisingly, it outperformed my expectations considering its specs and price. Pictured in 1/2), as shown in the With a set of CPS MA1234 gauges having a 1/4" male fitting on the yellow hose, the gauges can be connected directly to the pumps fitting without the use of an adapter, and the pumps accept r134a 1/2" straight pipe. In the box you should find the r134a adapter. No matter whether you fill through the oil fill or exhaust port, it's easy to fill the oil. Requires a 10-mm hex key. The following short clip lasts 30 seconds The first use of the product should be followed by a break in period. Make sure to check the oil level every time you remove the oil fill cap My ring came off the cap and I spotted it in time. Also, double-check drain plug prior to the first oil fill out of the box as mine had a little leak, don't over tighten, just snug as you may potentially damage the oil pump. I will ring you. In contrast to the knurled bolt shown in the image, the pump comes with a hex drain bolt. A vacuum will be pulled by the pump within 20-30 seconds The air conditioning auto system will take 30 minutes to run. Upon completion of 30 minutes of operation, the unit is safe to touch (lukewarm). concerned at first about the handle being plastic, but it feels very solid and sturdy. There is a tendency for the pump to mist oil out its exhaust port, especially when the pump is running with vacuum or when it is The oil usage was very low. I performed five 30-minute vacuums with no oil loss noticed. There is only occasional oil mist from the machine, so it's not too noisy and pretty safe to use indoors. Since purchasing, I have pulled the vacuum on only five auto 134a air conditioning systems three of these jobs were compressor burnout replacements, while the other two were refrigerant leak repairs, and I am just now beginning to see signs of needing new oil. It is a requirement of every manufacturer that you change the oil after ever use, as well as using only their brand of During my 5th vacuum operation, I noticed that the oil was milky. I confirmed this by visually checking through the sight glass after the operation, although the oil was clear after shutting it down. There is a need to change the oil since moisture is left behind in the oil from vacuuming and does not get boiled off. The frequency of oil changes depends on condition and mileage. You can routinely replace the oil after every use if that is your preference, and it will certainly draw a better vacuum with fresh oil. If you change the oil when the color is cloudy, or when the pump is not performing well, you will need to have the oil changed. Oil is included in the pump's bottle which is enough to fill the pump for 1 1/2 times. Note I’ll give you a hint Make sure the pump oil does not contain additives, as additives are more likely to breakdown and contaminate when combined The oil life of the pump is shortened if moisture is present on the pump when the pump is not in use. Make sure to install the dust cap on the pump fitting while not in use. For 3 of the A/C systems I replaced the receiver driers and compressors, the pump pulled a vacuum as low as 29 m, and as low as 28 m on the systems I did not replace the receiver driers or compressors. Check out the images below of a vacuum in process, an oil tanker port, a sight glass, and a The funds I had were tight, so I was unable to acquire a more expensive pump. All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase, the transaction went very smoothly for me. There is only one shortcoming in my analysis. The 'Made in China' label has been updated The vacuum has performed 17 auto a/c vacuums since being purchased with no complaints so far.

Worked as advertised, but did not perform as expected
3/5

It was not until March 8th that I was able to set up stabilization on this unit I purchased in December. It does not perform as advertised in terms of drawing vacuum. After 20 minutes of running with weight on the lids, it cannot draw down enough to seal the lids after I tried two different pots. It was a complete waste of my money. If you want to stabilize wood, don't even think about it.

There is a vacuum leak in the pump
3/5

I needed to purchase another vacuum pump after losing my previous one in Hurricane Harvey because my vintage air a/c system in my '65 Chevy C10 had been destroyed. The pump was connected and the boiler was run for about 15 minutes in order to make sure there were no leaks in my installation. As a result, a vacuum was created that was This resulted in a weight loss of 30 pounds. As soon as the vacuum was established, I disabled the pump to make sure the system maintained As I watched the needle slowly rise to 0, I became aware that it had slipped. As I thought I had a leak somewhere in my system, this was very upsetting for me. This pump leaked, and it turned out to be the culprit. As I did not want to go through the hassle of returning it and buying a new potentially faulty pump, I closed the vacuum line between the pump and the gauges with a 3/8" ball valve. As a result of pulling the I closed the valve 30 seconds after the vacuum was created. It held the vacuum for 24 hours, but I opened the valve and saw the vacuum disappear back to 0, I then opened the valve again and saw it go to The product is cheap and from China without any apparent quality control or certification.

You can depend on this sucker! The purpose of this purchase was to use this for impregnating my wood turning blanks with resin
5/5

A larger vacuum is generated by the device than is possible with the current venturi products. As long as you are resin impregnating on the kitchen table, it doesn't create a lot of noise. (My wife is a WONDERFUL person, generous of spirit and most forgiving of As well as using it with my vacuum chucks on my lathe, it works very well for me.

I like the pump, but the packaging is terrible
4/5

So far, the pump has worked well. I sucked out the dust on both of my minisplit air conditioners in 15 minutes each. This product comes with enough oil for 1 refill plus about 4 ounces more. I have only one complaint and that is the packaging. In the shipping box, there was no padding at all between the mfr box and the shipping box. It was obvious that the 1/4 cap rubbed through the interior box, and the styrofoam in the factory packing When I first inspected the fitting I was very concerned it was damaged, but on closer inspection it appeared to be fine. A lot of wear had been done to the cap. The purchase was a good one overall. My experience with it was excellent, and the quality of the build is impressive.

This was a job well done
5/5

Yesterday I received a new pump. Just as I was installing a new compressor on my wife's car, my brother showed up to install a new battery. Though it has only been used once, it did exactly what it was supposed to. In less than 10 minutes, I pulled a vacuum on the system. Running it for an entire hour was not a good idea. Ensure that the oil level in the sight glass is checked on a regular basis. The sun never set. It took less time than expected for heat to build up on the heat sinks. It is warm but not as uncomfortable as touching it barehanded. Despite its small size, this pump has two types of input. A 1/4 flare and an The new gauge sets use the Acme metric, while older ones use the flare metric. In my order, I forgot to factor that in. Having an old set that is flare was a lucky break for me. A $200 pump would be too heavy, but this pump is lighter and does not weigh as much.

Wood that is used to make knife blanks can be stabilized using this product
5/5

I love it! I ran this pump for 24 continuous hours with no problems, and it did an excellent job pulling a vacuum and releasing a little mist of oil when I first turned it on and when it shut Four separate 24 hour sessions have been run so far and an after oil change has been made every time as recommended by the manufacturer. In the past, I have used and reordered the Robinair oil, since it was included in the package. This purchase has been a good one for me.
