Questions & Answers
I believe I understand what you're talking about, but I received conflicting responses to your question. You inquired if the off valves are located near the High/Low quick couplers. No! There are no shut-ins included in this set. At the quick coiuplers, there are a lot of knock-offs. A Robinair set of three colored Enviro Guard hoses with these shut-off valves is available separately. This set, on the other hand, does not have any knock-offs. If that's the case, the Robinair Hose Set 65060 with 90-degree on/off ball valves in the last 6" of the hose, where the quick couplings are located, is what you're looking for. R134A is the type of gas that my set is for. I can close the refrigerant can valve to allow any remaining refrigerant to be sucked from the hose, then close the manifold Blue or Red valve, depending on which side the manufacturer specifies to charge to. This is a fantastic example of a top-notch product. the- However, the line manifold should be configured as shown. I hope this information is useful.
R- is used in the majority of residential systems. 22 refrigerant is a refrigerant that is used in the refrigeration process These gauges will not work with this type of system.
Yes, manual couplers are included in this kit.
They're made of plastic and have a rubber overmold.

A case with foam pads was used to package the unit. There were no issues with the shipping. The gauges have been calibrated. Vacuum was applied to the manifold, and the unit was held in place at - I have a 2004 Ranger and need hoses long enough to reach the vac pump on the floor. Smooth response from the gauges. The knobs are rubberized, and the valves have a positive feel to them. Couplers are manual, with a clip-on design and a knob to turn to gain access to the system. The seals' durability will be determined over time, but rebuild kits are available in the event that they fail.
I'd buy it again if I needed to, but I won't. Exceptional quality. This is a fantastic collection. I had previously purchased a different set from a traditional auto parts store. When I first used them, they broke! One of the hoses had been dropped while I was disconnecting it from the gauges, and it had broken as soon as it hit the ground. It was crafted out of pot metal! Wow! br>br>However, these are made of solid brass, and the case is very nice! I used them the other day, and they feel very solid in the hand, and they should last for generations.
My new Robinair 48510 manifold set arrived today. I reasoned that if I spent a little more money, I'd get a better product. The low-side gauge was out of calibration, reading 10 psi, while the high-side gauge read little vac. The hoses from the harbor freight vac pump appeared to be of higher quality; however, the brass connections were not particularly impressive, and I wished they were a little beefier. I had a hard time quickly disconnecting from the high side. The storage case was a bit of a letdown at $154. What should I anticipate at 00?.
It's far superior to the low-cost sets in terms of quality. I started with a low-cost manifold set (from HF). I returned it after doing some research and shopping around because it was such a piece of garbage. I paid a little more than twice as much for this Robinair set on Amazon as I did for those cheap sets. But wow! This one is well worth twice or even three times the cost of the cheaper sets. The part of the aluminum block with the site glass is of excellent quality. The gauges are extremely precise, large, and easy to read on the pound scale down to a single tick. The hoses are of excellent quality and are significantly longer than those found in cheaper sets. The quick-connect fittings aren't the best in the business. the- They are the economy version of the Robinair fittings, but the Robinair economy version quick connects are still far superior to the cheap sets. They are simple to install and do not waste any refrigerant. The fittings and couplings are of excellent quality, and they don't waste a single drop of refrigerant, making them safer to use for both people and the environment. When you quick connect off and on, the cheap sets spray a dose of refrigerant (which can be dangerous if it gets on your skin and will also ruin the paint job of the car). These Robinairs don't do that at all, and they provide a positive quick connection without spraying refrigerant on you. Don't waste your time with cheap and inaccurate sets; instead, get this set and you will not be disappointed. Another advantage of this Robinair set is the ease with which replacement parts can be obtained. So, when it comes time to replace fittings, knobs, and o-rings, keep these tips in mind. You'll have no trouble finding the rings or gauges you need to repair the manifold. When something small breaks on one of those cheap disposable sets, you have to toss it out and buy a new one. In addition, I purchased a can- I would rate this set as excellent for the do-it-yourselfer. br>br>I would rate this set as excellent for the do-it-yourselfer. br>br>I would rate this set as excellent for the do-it-yourselfer. br>br>I would rate this set as excellent for the do-it-yourselfer. br>br>I would rate this set as excellent for the do-it- It's a do-it-yourself auto person's set, and it's pretty close to a professional-quality set.
These items are of excellent quality and appear to be worth far more than they cost; I included a photo of them because the image in the description does not do them justice; this set is far nicer than what is shown. The dials are large and easy to read, and the knobs are silky smooth and leak-free - Much better than my previous set of mediocre HF gauges! If you bought the hoses, manual couplers, and case separately, they'd be more expensive than the entire kit with the manifold. So, yes, they're a fantastic deal. Having said that, one of the gauge background plates was bent forward, rendering the low side gauge inoperable and the high side gauge crooked, so I had to return the first set I received. Why should I fix the crooked gauge when I could easily fix it? So the criticisms of poor quality control are correct; some of their employees clearly have a poor work ethic, which will hopefully be eliminated. Even though the protective caps that are supposed to keep debris from entering the manifold through the bottom fittings during shipping were missing from the next set I received, it was perfect. However, I would not be swayed by that. No other manifold set comes close to these in terms of value for money.
I had purchased a set of gauges from HF at the time. All of the connections have a cheap plastic bushing. The set had a significant amount of leakage. That set was returned, and this Robinair set was purchased in its place. It appeals to me. The gaskets and fittings are of excellent quality. Right out of the box, there were no leaks. Everything is in order. One nice feature is that this set differs slightly from the one shown. It had a quick-release mechanism. Disconnect fittings (not manual) for connecting to the a/c lines in the car. They were a pleasant surprise, and they worked flawlessly.
My Jag had a side fitting, and I liked the sound of the manual valves. I debated whether or not to purchase this Robinair set, but ultimately decided to do so because the 6 foot hoses would allow me to reach the underbody with ease. My Jag had a side fitting, and I liked the sound of the manual valves. I'm glad I did because the set worked perfectly for the one job I bought it for, the manual valves are great (no Freon spray while hooking up), and the tool has a good quality feel to it. Will maintain a vacuum without leaking- The less expensive sets would almost certainly do the job for less money, but I prefer to buy good tools if I'm going to buy them; Some that my father bought 75 years ago are still in use, the per- The price per year is quite reasonable.
If you plan on using this for something other than r134a, you'll need to get different hoses. I had a hard time finding adaptors that would work with the check valve in the yellow hose.
