Is it possible that you're filling your RV with city water rather than tank water? An RV has a connection port for hooking up. up to the level of city water There's also a port where you can simply fill up your tank. Maybe you're trying to use the incorrect port.
Of course, make sure it's long enough to reach beyond the filler vent hole. Make all of your cuts at the same time.
Although I'm not sure, it's possible that it contains lead because it's made of plastic - Many plastic items contain a lot of lead, and they're allowed to have a lot more than lead paint.
A male x female garden hose threaded ball valve can be found in the orange piece. The hose is added to make it a quick-fill device, but the male threads aren't needed in the final assembly.

It connects to the water hose and extends about 6 inches or more into the fresh water gravity fill on the travel trailer. Because it has a shut-off valve, it'll come in handy when filling the fresh water tank. When the water tank is full, I can turn off the Quick Fill Pigtail w/ Shut Off and then turn off the water at the house faucet. br>br>It's long enough that it won't fall out while filling up with fresh water. The water hose barely fits inside the fresh water fill without the Quick Fill, and the hose must be held the entire time the water tank is filled. It was simply a matter of turning on the water and waiting for it to fill up after I received this device.
We have a travel trailer and frequent state parks and national lands in the Midwest with our two young children, but few of them have water hookups. This fill hose twists on easily to the water hose at the fill station and has a shut off valve dial on it. Our 30ft Jayco trailer has a secure fill hose that I can insert into the fill hole and let go of without it falling out. So far, the shut off valve has performed admirably for us – we haven't experienced any of the issues that some other reviewers have mentioned (perhaps it was just a bad batch of that component?). I know there are some DIY versions on Pinterest, but the cost of not having to deal with any of that was worth it. It was simple to order through Amazon Prime, and it arrived at my door in two days (I'm a sucker for not having to drag the kids to the store!). Worth it. If ours ever gets lost or damaged, I'll definitely buy another one.
I learned about these little things from reading forums, and they basically extend down into the tank to help the pressure escape around just the hose. In my experience with it, I've had a mixed bag of results. The concept is fantastic, and when you think about it, it's even better. The issue I'm having is that my hose isn't long enough to accomplish this. The orange and black parts of the valve are sturdy enough that I don't have any concerns about their operation. It's convenient to have a shut-off switch. I'll probably replace the hose with one that's about a foot longer and can reach all the way down into the tank. I understand that this may not be an issue for everyone because every RV is different, so I can't really fault the product because it does its job.
This is a low-cost item with a lot of utility. When I first bought my camper, I went through several funnels of various shapes, trying to figure out how to efficiently fill the freshwater tank. To keep the water pressure from knocking it out, I had to stand and hold it in place with everything I tried. This attachment fits your hose and extends far enough into the tank opening to keep it in place and prevent air from bubbling back up. The shutoff allows you to turn off the water whenever you want without spilling it. I strongly suggest it!.
It leaks when turned on or off, which I discovered this week after using it. Even so, it's preferable to having nothing at all. It's a low-cost "made in China" piece of garbage. I'd return it to Amazon, but I'm not interested in wasting ink by printing a return slip. I'm going to keep using it until it breaks or I misplace it. I can't think of anything else right now, so see what you can come up with for $7. If you don't, expect your hands, shoes, pants, and socks to get soaked!.
This is a very straightforward product that delivers excellent results. Filling the tank was a huge pain because my RV's fresh water intake was smaller than a metal hose end, and I had to "kink" the hose to stop the flow of water (a shut off valve was impractical). I ended up standing and holding the hose while the 50 gallon tank filled due to "blow back. " The Valterra Quick Fill is a straightforward product that fits into the fresh water filler neck. Walk away after you've turned on the valve. It stays in place on its own, so no more showers for me, and I can go check the tires while the tank fills up. (I wish I'd come up with this idea years ago. ).
This is a one-of-a-kind keeper among the many low-cost items I've bought for my RV with trepidation, believing they'd be a waste of time and money. Basically, it allows you to fill your RV's water tank with just one person. I assumed the water shutoff valve, which is made of plastic, would leak or malfunction. It hasn't leaked and is actually functional! So far, everything has gone well, and the shoes are dry.
It's simple to use, and it makes filling my holding tank a breeze. Unfortunately, I misplaced this one, so it's time to place a new order.
